When lies are the currency be very careful what you invest in. Reduce their power whenever you can. If you have an alternative to the major parties just vote for them. There is no point voting for policies that may never be followed, just mitigate their power and reduce their ability to do anything. I have a clear path to doing that in Scotland as there is in Northern Ireland. England not so clear but Independents are growing in number. He’s announcing bizarre, random policies every day which he knows will get the traditional Tory voters (mainly over 60) frothing at the mouth and voting for them. This will never be implemented because there isn’t the infrastructure in place for National Service, there is no funding available for it and the economy can’t afford to lose sizeable numbers of students and working age people to it. But when older traditionally Tory voters watch the news and see knife crime, layabouts, druggies, pissed up football fans, demonstrators etc, the answer is National Service. I’ll vote for that, that’s what this country needs. It’s crass, it panders to the lowest Tory denominator and the knee jerk reactors, but above all, it’s a desperate attempt to win votes when something radical is needed because their record on everything meaningful is abysmal - even in the eyes of nutter Tory voters.
