But I could probably have guessed at the validity of the post on X because Israel is in quotes. I am genuinely worried where this is all going. Has anybody supported Hamas? They're terrorists but it doesn't mean the Israelis can kill innocent people to stop them.
I would imagine that any children who survive this murder after losing their parents and homes may well grow up to be Hamas supporters.
Where is there political or overt public support for Hamas beyond maybe Iran? Not on here certainly and not within any current political commentary. However, the abhorrent and inhumane actions of the current Israeli regime is creating the environment which will generate support for that organisation within the Palestinian (and wider) communities.

For what it's worth... I am very well aware of the threat of disinformation and the risks posed by combusting opinion. SM platforms are literally awash with it. Unless it is obviously political satire, I do always look for verification sources for anything I post, whether that be about the situation in Gaza or any other political issues. Have I been caught out on occasion? Yes I have - most recently (and rightly) I recall by PowerSpurs. But if that does occur then I acknowledge the mistake, although accept that to some degree the damage is done and cannot be undone. Unfortunately,, as the proven actions of malign individuals and Governments gets ever more extreme, it is increasingly difficult to differentiate between the facts of an incident, a policy decision and a totally fictional story. Which in itself is arguably the biggest current threat to Democracy in the parts of the world that still try to maintain some semblance of Democracy. This year's UK and US elections in particular will be a hotbed of AI-driven audio and video spoof material - much of it emanating from hostile foreign agencies - and most will be driven with an xRW agenda. The effect of that on a largely politically ignorant and gullible electorate will have far reaching implications for us all. It certainly won't be pretty!
