This is not about the flights to Rwanda.

We now know what Braverman meant when she spoke about Plan B in her clusterfck of a letter.

This is all about the internal battle within the party to get rid of the ECHR. Nowt else.

The Supreme Court has already said that even without the ECHR the policy was unlawful. They've also intimated that when the government sought legal advice they were told this yet they still persisted.

And why even now are those on the right of the party persisting with this bullshit about the ECHR and why is Rishi trying to placate them with similar bullshit? Hmmm....

God help the UK if these bastards manage to achieve an exit from the ECHR.
They are already riding roughshod over basic freedoms and controls. If they get released from those restraints then a Draconian police state will be confirmed.

It was one of the aims of Brexit. They're opposed to human decency.

Does anyone know what the Conservatives are actually trying to conserve any more?

I've no idea how and when they'll try this but they'll probably have a crack at it before the next GE.

Atm they're talking about a new treaty with Rwanda which apparently will prove the refugees being sent there won't be killed. I'm reminded of Chamberlain holding aloft a piece of paper proclaiming peace in our time <laugh> <doh>

I would have thought that if they follow normal Parliamentary procedures they would have to raise this at the earliest in the next sitting of Parliament in early '24. That Bill would theb have to go through various stages and votes before being passed to the Lord's and only then returning to the HoC for accession.
It would be difficult, if not impossible, to achieve that in 12 months with the number of objections and legal challenges likely.

Or they could just illegally prorogue Parliament again and push the Bill through unopposed.

I know where the safe money is going ...

Has somebody explained to Cruella that what she's threatening isn't much of a threat given the thing about grids is there's areas with nothing in them which can be easily manoeuvred into so that the **** bypasses you completely?

Can you believe people have allowed themselves to be whipped up into a frenzy like this by the Tories and the media? What an utter moron.

Can I believe it? Yes, of course I can. It's been happening for 7 years (at least) in its latest form.
The same mugs that bought into the Brexit' lies on immigration are desperate for any chance to somehow validate their stupidity.
For the Tories, their client journos and their ex-pat media company paymasters, getting these suckers to 'bite' is like shooting fish in a barrel - excusing the mixed metaphor.

Its said that satirical humour is dead and that kind of proves it. I think the LBC presenter was wondering if he was actually being set up on an 'Exploding Heads' spoof!

First calling criticism of Rwanda's appalling human rights record as racist before this ...<doh><laugh>
