Yorkshire Building Society denied it had closed the vicar’s account due to a difference of opinion or belief. Accounts are only closed if a customer is “rude, abusive, violent or discriminates in any way”, it said. @PleaseNotPoll has dealt with your first point. So there are zero actual examples so far and neither of the claimed ones involve a bank which offers ordinary current accounts. Doesn't seem to be a major issue.
British gas , the company that had nearly 1000% profit increase , the company fired and rehired over 500 engineers ,the company that gained entry into 40'000 homes to fit pre pay meters, who later said they were very very sorry, yes that company are paying their boss £1.6 million bonus **** off and stop this bullshit
Evgeny Lebedev, Baron of Hampton and Siberia, bemoans Russophobia: https://www.standard.co.uk/comment/comment/evgeny-lebedev-russophobia-coutts-row-b1097126.html# His family has been misrepresented by the media, apparently. That family being his KGB agent turned oligarch father, basically. You know, Boris Johnson's party host. That he's decided to jump into the Farage melee says it all.
Which of the four did the vicar demonstrably do (I assume there are audio/text transcripts) ?? "@PleaseNotPoll has dealt with your first point." So Simon Jacks' "source" is in fact telling the truth ?? If you were Coutts, would you not state that even given all the stuff in the Farage dossier, that the primary deciding factor was the account balance issue ?? ""So there are zero actual examples so far and neither of the claimed ones involve a bank which offers ordinary current accounts. Doesn't seem to be a major issue." So in fact there two actual examples.
There is no Farage dossier. It's a series of messages that he's edited and compiled to make it look like one. They say that they're going to keep him until he's paid off his mortgage and then that happens.
You haven't read it, have you? It's openly edited: https://www.documentcloud.org/documents/23881614-private-redacted Sensitive data is understandably blanked out, for a start. So are any cash balances. Did he alter anything else? Who knows? You should read it, though. Paints a very flattering picture of your mate.
Coutts know. Anyone there with any nous would simply reproduce the accessible document, and then give the e-doc stats of the original (size, pages, words etc) - which would allow a cursory doc diff to be done (and by definition indicate the degree of redaction) . And if any redacted text states that the prime decider for Farage getting the boot is the account balance issue, definitely put that out there.
Coutts can't comment, as Alisson Rose found out. The redacted text doesn't have to state that the prime decider for Farage getting the boot is financial. The unredacted text says that: "After the expiry of the mortgage with Coutts, NF would not be a criteria client, and we should set a glide path to exiting NF when that mortgage expires." He didn't meet the financial criteria any more and his actions risked reputational damage, too. They also point out on page 39 that there's "clearly a risk of negative publicity in exiting". They rather underplayed that one.
For the data breach in sharing information with a BBC journalist. She confirmed that he was a Coutts customer and that he'd been offered a NatWest account. Farage had merely hinted at the former and omitted the latter.
Oh what a tangled web we weave ... Ignoring the utter eff-up that Coutts and Natwest have committed on all this, if I was them I would get info on Farges' account balance threshold deltas prior/subsequent to the report date, and if sufficiently damning then have a "trusted source"feed it to the hacks.
The papers you posted mentioned reputational risk many times over a long period but it seems that only once the financial amount fell below a level they feel is enough for them for them to make any investment profit worthwhile that the risk outweighed their main objective.
