I think that's the first time that Johnson's been compared to a small, poor Mexican village. I'm not surprised that they picked a film starring a Russian, though.
Then Coutts should just say that for them: 1. this is the reason, and for nothing else 2. whether thus was directly indicated to Farage 3. the account could remain open if Farage got the balance up to the baseline by a given time Actually, even better for them would be if they can show that Farage is one of several who are now gone for the same reason. "2. The source may not be Coutts." The BBC should state this is not so (they of all people should currently know to do so) .
I don't think that Coutts can or should do that. Farage didn't mention them in his original video, so it's not really appropriate. The BBC probably doesn't want to name it's source.
Once it became clear that Coutts are a bank in question, they should have the public right to reply. You won't get anywhere near so much drama when/where transparency dwells. The BBC probably doesn't want to name it's source" State the source is not someone who works at/for Coutts. (it costs nothing to do so) .
I don't think that Coutts are particularly interested in transparency. They're virtually known for the opposite. Discretion is very important to a lot of their clients. I think Farage was hoping to work his way back in by trying to force their hand, yet not name them. I doubt that the BBC wants to narrow the search for their source down. I certainly wouldn't in their position.
Farage cannot eat his cake and then have it. Anyone indulging in amateur dramatics when there is a more serious underlying issue to consider, should IMHO be expected to be put thri the wringer if that is what they are engaging in/ "I doubt that the BBC wants to narrow the search for their source down. I certainly wouldn't in their position." A news reporting org does not want the charge of being a party to financial data protection breaches laid at their feet. More so when it relates to possible amateur dramatics.
Farage is the king of having his cake and eating it. He's based his entire political career on it. Everything is everyone else's fault, especially the things that he's said and done. The BBC are unlikely to have had to cross any lines to get this information. Farage has a big mouth and so do a lot of his friends.
The BBC has an out in that regard anyway, as The Times said he had an account with Coutt's in June 2019 and he did not attempt to correct the record But of course, the waffling gargoyle doesn't want to pick a fight with Uncle Rupert
Not sure if he was pissed or had taken a line or two. However his arrogance and clear mysoginy was laid bare for all to see. It was deeply embarrassing and offensive. But these Tories just don't care about optics any more. It's like they've given up and are just conducting some bizarre scorched earth policy of a departing administration.
They are acting like toddlers who are told it is bed time, kicking over the bricks and throwing the teddy , we need a GE asap
