I actually accept that for CM to present the News within an hour of a pre-recorded HIGNFY is possibly a conflict. But the issue is surely that they (BBC News management) KNEW he was presenting the comedy show, so why schedule him for the News? That seems a conscious decision to pander to the Tory apologists....
They claim to have a teacher reprimanding a pupil for discriminating against a cat child. I've listened to it and the pupil is the one that mentions cows and other animals. The teacher could be talking about a trans kid, though. There's been a bunch of American claims that match and they've all been bullshit. I've far from convinced that this is true.

Okay, this bullshit can be skewered on two levels In the case of Birbalcunt, her usual policy is that if a child says something and a teacher says something, she will ALWAYS side with the teacher - except in this case, when the teacher says it's complete bullshit, at which point she immediately sides with the child However, as you said, at source it's bullshit About 3-4 months ago the American alt-right started with this "cat litter trays for kids identifying as cats" bullshit, but where this story came from underlines how ****ing nasty it is: yes, some classrooms in schools in one district did have cat litter in the classroom - but the reason for that was not because kids were identifying as cats, but because kids needing someplace to piss when the school was in lockdown when there was an active shooter 4-6 hours ago but police still were not letting kids leave their classrooms
