He's wearing the same RWDS patches that a number of the Proud Boys do.
Some of those recently convicted for Seditious Conspiracy had it, for example.
It stands for Right Wing Death Squad.

Waiting for the usual scum to try and say the people shot deserved it

That's exactly what they're doing for the guy choked to death on the NY subway last week

I don't intend to post the video here that is circulating, it frankly was very distressing and made me feel physically sick. However, if you think that the Met Police have bottomed out as far as their reputation is concerned, then think again - and read up about the attack on the guy on the canalside today by 8 officers and the brutal killing of his dogs. All captured on the video. And remind yourselves - this was in London, not New York, Moscow or Beijing!

Policing is not an easy job. In fact it's damn hard and goes largely unrewarded. But when officers behave as vicious thugs, often hiding behind the most Draconian of legislation, then they are not acting with the consent of the public they represent. They discredit their organisation and should face the consequences.

Yeah I unfortunately saw that video. Awful to watch wasn’t it. I’m not one to slag off the police as they don’t have an easy job but they’ve handled this awfully and two dogs have paid the ultimate price.

I fear we aren’t far away from huge civil unrest and things like this could be the tipping point.

Well, if the actions at the time were not awful enough, the Mets Directorate of Professional Standards publicly determined in less than 4 hours that officers actions were 'appropriate' <doh>

So, in that short time, they apparently concluded an investigation that should have included most, if not all of the following actions:
    - Taken and reviewed all statements from officers on scene
    - Reviewed and transcribed all relevant 999 and 112 calls and taken statements from witnesses
    - Reviewed Supervisors actions and directions in relation to Taser and Firearms use.
    - carried out house to house enquiries in the surrounding area and apartments for any other witnesses
    - Reviewed investigating officers interview of 'suspect' and taken statement from him.

    Yeah, right....

Too fast to close this down - and unfortunately, I fear that the social status of the suspect/victim and his dogs wil allow them to get away with this. <grr>

Starmer now refusing to repeal the most Draconian, anti-Democratic Public Order legislation outside of Russia, China or Myanmar!
He's turning bluer by the minute.....<doh>

Literal Tory propaganda from a Goon. ITV's Kuntburger.
He doesn't say that he's refusing to repeal anything.
He totally dodged the question and said that it hasn't bedded in yet.

Peston's other tweet for this same interview is equally devoid of reality:

Absolutely shameful bullshit from that shifty rat.
Shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a public broadcaster.

It should be no surprise that police standards are in an increasingly downward spiral.
    - the bar is set low these days for recruitment
    - those in the job are not monitored closely enough. For example, they can fail to disclose convictions and nobody will find them out
    - they have increasingly wide powers, which they exercise with little scrutiny
    - they are not accountable in law for negligence
    - where they might be accountable for other failures to act in accordance with law, people have little chance of enforcing their rights. The police close ranks, there is little or no legal aid to fund legal action, “independent” watchdogs are anything but…
    - they continue to get a good press in the media as a whole, by and large, however many incidents of police misconduct or failures come to light. The excuse that had rotten apples don’t represent the majority remains the mantra

The net result is that police can behave as they wish. There are clearly many officers who do. With a government like the one we have, it won’t change for the better any time soon

I take your point and agree with your comments on the source. I really hope that Starmer is either badly advised, or unable to follow a brief, because his messaging failures over Brexit, PR and now tacitly supporting this legislation is setting a dangerous pattern.

I think Starmer's just avoiding controversial headlines.
He downplays anything that could allow the right-wing media to run with it.
It doesn't play well with a lot of people who pay close attention to politics, but it works with those that don't.
The latest polling appears to have him extending the gap between him and Sunak, for example.
