Remember when you had to do this, Mr Neil? No, I don't either.

On the day that the investigation into multiple claims of bullying by Raab defers any decision back to....Sunak! <doh>

The only surprise is that they didn't just give it back to Raab!

I'm actually finding it hard to find anything remotely amusing in this matter, but Matt Green has made me chuckle out loud - even if it's difficult to establish parody from fact right now!

Will actually be interesting to see who will scab ...

How ****ing ironic if the BBC manage to cancel themselves and bring down a Tory Government all in the same breath!

I have desperately tried and failed to dislike Ian Wright ever since he joined the gooners...and the git continues to be a very decent human being <applause>

Absolutely, as his comments have caused differences
of opinion within the general public on the topic.

But that is not what is causing the ire from the dissenters.

What is IMHO is that he is using his perceived
prominence from being a "disguised employee" of
(sorry - a "service provider" to) the BBC.
The BBC that is generally not considered to be
providing good service, and which is funded by
a tax that is paid for by many of the people the
likes of Lineker have a sneering contempt for.

My suggestion is that he recognises the perception
of this, voluntarily leave the employ of (sorry -
terminate "services provided" to) the BBC so
that he can continue his Twatter indulgences
without that charge being levelled at him.

    " ...

Lineker’s problem is not what he’s said but that he’s dared to express an opinion which might result in the government getting on the BBC’s back because an “employee” is not seen to be “impartial.”. If he’d said something Clarkson-esque about the issue, nobody would bat an eyelid (as indeed the BBC haven’t done in the past when he said things as Top Gear presenter).[/QUOTE]

What do you think would result in him departing the BBC quicker :

What he has stated to date, or if he said he was in full
agreement with the govt plans on dealing with the 'dinghy drivers'' ??

    I do agree.
However I would like it if possible to go beyond international rules. What does a country - any and every country need? I don't want to get bogged down in what has been built up just in case it does not make sense.
There are 8 billion people on the planet - apparently they would not even fit on the Isle of Wight if they wanted to go there. So not everyone will always be able to go where they want to and people in each country may be more or less willing to accept newcomers. Do we accept that subject to concerns about human rights a country should be allowed to decide who they are willing to accept or not. If not then who is it who tells a country who they are compelled to accept.
Or do we think no country has the right to deny anyone entry?

Not sure where people are getting this from, but apparently Mark Chapman's ruled it out, too.
