Tories (and DUP) in HoC continuing to gaslight the country by attacking Lineker and insisting on BBC impartiality! Free speech appears to be a very subjective matter for these neo-Fascists. It's only a pity for the UK that the new immigration laws don't allow for the deportation of the DUP altogether!
Just my opinion, but he's a citizen with a right to express his (political) opinions just like anyone else. In fact, he has regularly demonstrated over the past few years a strong understanding of UK politics and in particular matters around Immigration, so personally I would certainly listen to him. It's generally a positive thing to have considered opinions to assist the debate - and especially when a Government is seeking to introduce Draconian (and quite possibly illegal) legislation. Hugh Grant is another non-politician who in recent years has contributed to the debates over Brexit and especially Leveson - a subject of which he has a deep personal experience and understanding.
She's certainly been accused of homophobia due to signal boosting Caroline Farrow last year, given Farrow is one of those Christians who puts the "mental" into "fundamentalist" as she's anti-trans, anti-gay, anti-abortion, but definitely supports all women More than anything else, her initial arguments about the trans community (before she just started screeching incoherently about toilets) being a mental disorder was uncannily similar to Galbraith Heath's views on homosexuality being a mental disorder, which is why the choice of that particular pseudonym drew comment when she started going Full TERF It also has to be said she did have a track record of shutting down gay Potter fanfiction before suddenly retconning Dumbledore as homosexual, which makes the motivation of that move somewhat suspect
All fascists aren't Nazis, but all Nazis were fascists. She's basically saying that footballers aren't athletes, they're footballers. So dumb. She did follow it up with a decent take though, rather bizarrely: Cruella Slaverman's gone too far for many of the nuttiest Tories, it seems.

Trying to slag off Lineker as a footballer is just insanely stupid. Reminding people of what he was inarguably good at is not the best idea.
Just watched this and you could make a case for Richard Madeley being the best panel member. I'd have thought that would be an utterly ridiculous claim before I saw it, to be honest.
They can't help themsselves... Most football fans regard Lineker fondly. A hero for several clubs & his country. Some good-natured sniping, but at heart he's very popular...with a following of several million on sm. He's also a very intelligent, multi-lingual successful businessman, and most importantly prepared to talk truth to Power. And that last bit is what motivates the apoplectic rage response: Lying is their very being. They cannot deal with truth. It's absolute Kryptonite to Tories!
