The fact that Truss and Kwarteng have both tried pinning the 45p rate cut on him might be sticking in his craw...

That's a bit like the office cleaner being blamed for the Health and Safety policy for a major Corporation!
No sympathy with Philp as he is an odious, unpleasant ****ehawk, but that decision is on KamiKwazi and BlunderTruss.

What is sad is that this top rate cut has been abandoned not because they decided it was wrong, but because they 'listened'. That is listened to MPs who would be out of a job at the next election had they gone ahead with it. Make no mistake, they believed in it so much that they went out of their way to implement it at the first possible opportunity (when all they had to do was implement the energy bill subsidy and related stuff). Of course it is almost redundant to comment that nobody actually voted for that, even Tories, and it wasn't in the manifesto. Not the best advert for democracy.

Come to think of it hardly anybody voted for Truss either. She was third in the initial leadership ballot with 50 MPs votes (out of 357), which is a frighteningly small proportion. She was almost the person that people voted for because they didn't like any of the others, rather than chose themselves. And when appointing her cabinet she has notably avoided giving top jobs to people who opposed her, another bad sign. Plus when she talks she makes Theresa May sound like she wasn't such a bad PM as we thought.

Coincidentally, somebody kicked over my bins last night

Do you think he's figured out who keeps leaving bottles of Yazoo on his doorstep every time he defends the Tories being Tories...?

It seems that we've gone from a prime minister who could conjure up a piss up anywhere, anytime, from thin air, to one who couldn't organize a very small one, in a brewery, if her very life depended on it.

What the ****ing hell comes next?

Theresa May’s reputation has continued to rise and rise with Johnson and now Truss as PM.
She seems positively reasonable by comparison.

She was shafted by Cameron and his referendum he didn’t plan on losing.
She showed her true colours as Home Secretary when she tried to justify public spending cuts by telling the police they could do more. My God, there’s been quite a run of nasty female Home Secretaries.

Imagine how different her and Cameron's careers and the fortunes of the Tories in government would've been if they hadn't ventured on the clusterfck debacle that was Brexit.

The irony is they did it solely with the hope of ending divisions within the party but all it ended up doing was marginalising the mainstream one nation tories in the party and handing power over to thick, twisted right-wing libertarians and the party is more fractured than ever. And long may it continue!

I'm sure that there's been some analysis done to show that this appeals to Tory voters.
It's quite hard to explain the pattern otherwise.

Since this morning I've noticed not only Cruella Braverman use the word "coup" to describe any Tory MP who disagrees with what the ERG Prime Minister is planning, but also plenty of bots talking up how Kemi Bad Enoch is "loyal" and doesn't "brief against the government" before degenerating into sniping at Mordaunt

    Yup, we've gone Full Trump
