I'm going to guess Italy voting for a woman who's a big fan of Mussolini. Her party was literally formed by Italian fascists after the war. Various family members of Il Duce have run for political office under their banner. One of their candidates was suspended last week for praising Hitler. I could be wrong, though. He could mean Canada...
I am unaware of the Italy election winners specific policy pledges, but I am going to assume they campaigned mainly on the state being everything, and individuals + corporations being wholly subservient to the whims of the governing regime (including against those perceived to be against the state) . As any "good" aspiring Fascist surely would (I could be wrong though) ...
Their slogan was "Ready to revive Italy", which is a red baseball cap flag even before you look at their policies mainly consisting of repeating that the following things are BAD - Migrants - Abortion - Gay marriage - Being in the Eurozone (until they did a u-turn on that)
Great timing or possibly awful timing from the Tories. ****ting the bed while Labour are having a Union Flag-strewn conference and announcing new policies? Not a good start, Bo... er, I mean Lizzy.
I have union members who agree with removing these rights , blame the courts the judges and the lawyers but then come to me as a union rep when they think their managers have overstepped the mark they just don't get the link
A superficial* Tory party who recently sacked a stuttering spikey haired public school weirdo and replaced him with a robotic weirdo reputedly human of the female type. It's a woman Jim but not as we know it. OR An apologist Labour Party led by a knight of the realm. The Hamburger Barrister. Your choice *carefully chosen word. Glad I live in Scotland.
He hasn't got any part of that Have you seen how many seats the Labour party has in Scotland? If it wasn't for PR they would have maybe ONE
More fallout from the most disgraceful "budget" ever. Apart from the reputable economists and government economic advisers describing it in "very unfavourable" terms. In fact it would be funny if it wasn't actually tragic for all of us. Hearing that the Bank of England thinking about a big raise in interest rates to get inflation under control. It's almost like the old cliche of if the only tool you have is a hammer than any problem looks like a nail. Because it seems that all the people with a brain the size of a planet that are supposed to run the central bank can only think of one thing to do in a crisis: Inflation out of control: raise interest rates Pound crashing: raise interest rates Alien invasion: raise interest rates But I guess that's monetarism where it appears the money supply controls *everything*. Allegedly. Moreover I thought home ownership was a big Tory thing? Well mortgage providers are already withdrawing the best products for offsetting interest rate rises (wouldn't want to make mortgages more affordable would we), because they are anticipating the interest rate rise. And when interest rates do go up, interest payers will suddenly find that anything they could possibly have made from tax cuts (which they probably didn't anyway) instantly vanishes. And everyone is worse off than before. Except that the £ has crashed and international organisations think the country is a joke. Mind you the people without a mortgage are relatively less damaged. They just get the non-mortgage related crap.
It is. When lots of people default and lose their homes, then rich people and corporations can buy them. Oh, you meant the electorate owning their own houses? Sorry.
Just come off a union live meeting CWU CWU Royal mail members will be on strike for 19 days in October and November including days around Black Friday and Cyber Monday, different sections of the operation out in groups of 3 days at a time
It was...but the Tories are a thing of the past. There's been a hostile takeover by the far right and it now resembles the current Republican party in the USA more than the old One Nation Conservatives. The current government is made up of a bunch of lunatics, crooks, fanatics and fascists...and all of them are on the make.
Not a cliche. Literally the primary tool a state central bank has in order to attempt to control the amount of money available. That the same bank was more than happy to let "money printer go brrr" during the Wuhan flu saga until there was no more paper left, is another story ...
