"Musician"? True, but omitting quite a lot of detail. Privately educated posho whose dad is worth £630m and co-edited The Orange Book. Then went on to back Brexit financially and fund GB News, as well as donating to the Tories. Also related to a Princess. Had to quit his band after pushing Jordan Peterson and Andy Ngo. Now works for The Spectator. Should've stuck to playing the banjo.
I watched this for the first time in years. Detest Fiona Bruce, but even she was struggling to find any plants to back Johnson. Alastair Campbell let his (justified) hatred of Stanley and the Torygraph show through a bit too clearly I thought. The Mumford Muppet came across as a mix of Citizen Smith and Aaron Banks - trying to appear balanced, but just coming across as politically confused. As for the Tory MP.... (Airhead)
The amazing thing about this clip is Alistair Campbell managed to get this out without any Fiona Bruce interruptions
But his running the economy was terrible leading to devaluation and ultimately Ted Heath. Not being drawn into war is a negative achievement albeit good. You can't really celebrate all the things that don't happen much though. I think it DOES get far more right wing than neo-liberalism - try Thatcherism or Fascism. I know he was not "left" enough for many Socialists hence my original description of him as the best Tory PM in 25 years
Thatcher was the first western leader to introduce new liberalism on the back of the Falklands War. That was the basis of Thatcherism
Agreed. Blair was not nearly so far right though. After 20 years nearly of Tory domination Blair started to pull us back towards the middle - even though I agree he was not exactly "left". If he had been succeeded by someone more competent than Gordon Brown (maybe the "better" Miliband) I think Labour could have gently moved us back leftwards. As it was Brown was a dunce and led to Cameron & Co (Ltd). If Brown had offered Clegg a guaranteed Coalition which would actively campaign for PR we might never have had another Tory (minority) government. That was where Labour and ultimately the country lost out.
Didn't stop her from trying though, did it? "Come on Tory voters, I know you're out there." With the unspoken part being because they planted the ****ers themselves.
To be fair they are supposed to have an audience that reflects local opinion. Not the professionals as they normally do, but they should have Tories in there.
