As politicians go, Rayner is/was alright and not even in the way Kiwi considered her alright. It’s good to have people with her background near the top and I don’t think it deserved to end how it has.

Lammy is a useless fat gimp who will probably sell the House of Commons for magic beans by mistake. Hamas-shagging drip of a man miles out of his depth but probably less likely to **** up in this job than the last one.

Very good, but the behaviour of those currently in power and those kicked out last time round are just handing it to Farage and co on a plate. He'll be lapping up the Rayner fiasco. Our political landscape needs a full scale overhaul, it's too full of self-serving sycophants who couldn"t give a toss about Joe Public. The longer they go on showing contempt for the masses, the stronger Farage and his bunch of right-wing cronies will get - this country is so ****ed, and come the next election it's going to get a hell of a lot messier.

At least under this government failing to meet ministerial standards is properly dealt with. It wasn't under the last lot. The government is undoubtedly struggling at the moment, but it has at least another three years to get things moving in the right direction. Starmer performs quite well on the World stage, I think, but he needs to focus more on domestic issues.

Farage seems to have come under more critical scrutiny in Washington than he ever does here. Once he gets that scutiny, as he must in a GE campaign, I believe he'll fall apart. Reform willl of course still win many seats, mostly from the Tories, but there will also be gains by the LibDems and Greens (whose new leader will attract votes) and maybe Corbyn's party as well. This likely spread of support across numerous parties may well result in the overhaul you would like to see.

While this part of his past is quite amusing he’s a genuinely dreadful person. The Greens stopped being about anything green a long time ago.

Oh yeah, they're critical of the current regime in Israel aren't they, and therefore not legitimate in your eyes? The Greens are a political party and not just a single-issue protest group. Calling a genocide a genocide seems like a reasonable thing for a political party to do.

I didn’t mention Israel and was referring to a far wider variety of their views and policies but as you did, Polanski himself is a weathervane, not least when it comes to his determination to throw Jews under the bus to appease the mob he’s aligned himself to in this iteration of himself. Mothin Ali celebrated October 7th. Neither are serious people who should be leading a serious political party. They’ve sold out being focussed on the environment for the greater pool of voters that make up all sorts of groups of freaks, safe in the knowledge they can promise the world and never have to deliver it.

Don’t know anything about the bloke other than his stuff occasionally pops up on my Insta/Twitter reels and seems quite tame. Having seen the video I’m amazed he’s not dead already.
 
He's died. Love or hate his politics and views, a young man with a young family was shot and killed today. That can only be seen as tragic surely. RIP.
 
Charlie Kirk was not a politician, he was a right leaning political commentator and was assassinated for his views.
He was 31 years old and leaves behind a wife and young family.
He was also a friend of Trump.
Whether you agree with someone's views or not you don't deserve to be killed for them.
