Yeah, they should have ripped up the staffing schedules by now, shouldn't they? They've had three days after all.

Much of the poor service is down to Network Rail, not the TOCs ( a couple of notable exceptions)
I worked as train crew back in the mid 80s and, I was glad to move on. I was threatened by my union for not wanting to join what I believed to be unfounded strike action. The drivers have done incredibly well in terms of pay (significantly better paid than drivers elsewhere in Europe, even those in Germany) and still have finsl salary pensions
There will be significant union resistance to many of the changes needed to transform the industry as much will revolve around changes to working practices
The government should've formulated and announced a proper plan for "transformation" instead of winging it as they are doing in so many other areas. Just another government not wanting to provide detail lest they be held to account. I'm utterly fed up of politicians of all parties and their endless supply of soundbites. Where are the f*cking plans????

Kneecap axed from TRNSMT....
Irish rap group Kneecap say they have been axed from the TRNSMT music festival in Glasgow over police concerns about safety.
Police Scotland said last week that allowing the trio to perform at Glasgow Green on 11 July would require "a significant policing operation".
It followed a member of the Irish language group being charged with a terror offence after allegedly displaying a flag in support of proscribed organisation Hezbollah at a London gig.
The Belfast trio were also criticised over 2023 gig footage that appeared to show a band member saying: "The only good Tory is a dead Tory. Kill your local MP."
Kneecap released a statement saying that, to make up for the TRNSMT cancellation, they would be putting on a new show at Glasgow's O2 Academy on Tuesday 8 July.
The band said: "Due to concerns expressed by the police about safety at the event, Kneecap can no longer perform at TRNSMT.
"To the thousands of people who bought tickets, flights and hotels to see us play, we are sorry...it is out of our hands.
"Glasgow has always been a huge city for us. We've played there many many times, with no issues - ever. Make of that what you will."
The band later added: "Kneecap didn't 'pull out' of TRNSMT - Kneecap were removed."
TRNSMT promoters DF Concerts said: "Due to concerns expressed by the police about safety at the event, Kneecap will no longer perform at TRNSMT on Friday, 11 July.

This will likely then go to the Supreme Court for a final ruling and follows the 9-0 Supreme Court ruling that Kilmar Abrego Garcia should be returned from El Salvador, which Trump has ignored.
It's all going to come to a head quite soon, it seems to me. Either the Supreme Court will do its job and cause the downfall of Trump, or he will decide that he can ignore it once more and go on to become the full-on fascist dictator than some predicted. I hope for decent Americans that the courts prevail.

It's just a reasonably paid job with fantastic perks for people who've studied politics and whose parents know someone and they can't be arsed having a career first
Starmer is just about to relent on WFA and the two-child benefit cap and Farage has indeed stolen Labour's clothes on these issues, albeit briefly, but will anyone remember in four years' time? Starmer is plainly running scared, though, and his speech yesterday criticising Farage was like he was conducting an election campaign. Just get on with the job, Suckear.
The child benefit issue is an interesting one when set alongside the manic obsession with levels of immigration. If we don't want immigrants, we need people to have lots more children. Only the right type of people, though.
Farage is running rings round Starmer and seems to be deliberately targeting the discontent in Labour by making his plans on Pensioners and the 2 child benefit cap to force Starmer into reacting. It's making Starmer look very weak in that he's rattled by a party with 5 MPs. It just underlines the fact that Starmer just doesn't have a politician's antennae, as Rosie Duffield says, "he's always been useless"...
