That's not a reason to retain them. I'm against all schools that teach children that their religion makes them different.
I remember being at school assemblies in the sixties where the Jewish children would file out when it got to the bit where hymns would be sung, presumably at the behest of their parents. I was just puzzled at the time, but looking back it seems terribly damaging.

It goes to my point about how incredulous you were about my not being aware of this horrendous incident. You were outraged by it because it was thrust in your face by the rabble-rousing right wing media that you consume. I wasn't aware of it because it was minor incident that wasn't worthy of being top of the agenda for responsible news media.
I wouldn't be too patronising about the man. The police are useless at the best of times, and may well feel it's not in their interests to make anything of this in case it inflames the anger of those who follow the religion of peace.
