It’s a nice aspiration but while there’s one square yard of land named Israel there’ll be problems with many surrounding countries. The big oil countries less so and the UAE now have a particularly good relationship but there’s always going to be an element in Egypt, Iran and Lebanon particularly who want them wiped off the map.
Agreed
The unequivocal recognitions of the state of Israel has to be part of any solution along with the creation of a Palestinian state. Both are essential.

all aspirational I know but I’m a big big believer in 2 things;
* where there’s a will, there’s a way
* There is a solution to every problem

The US has vetoed a UN resolution calling for a ceasefire. Yet another example of ridiculous US foreign policy.
Apparently Russia (Yes Russia) will bring forward another resolution calling for a ceasefire.
Maybe the us should ask for a ceasefire and the occupying forces to leave Ukraine at the same time

“We can forgive the Arabs for killing our children. We cannot forgive them for forcing us to kill their children. We will only have peace with the Arabs when they love their children more than they hate us." ― Golda Meir, A Land of Our Own: An Oral Autobiography [1973]
She also said
“There was no such thing as Palestinians” meaning they didn’t have a right to a homeland. Why Arabs who had lived in Palestine for generations didn’t have a right to the territory while Jews who hadn’t lived there for generations did is beyond my powers of understanding.

Still, she gave a good sound bite on occasion. Of course the Israelis could have just declined to kill Arab children, but it’s easier to blame the Arabs,

Well yeah, but why have they done it? Big boost for Biden.
Trade for aid getting in from Egypt is my guess. Presumably Biden got Netanyahu to agree to it and stop bombing for a few minutes.

Edit: seems like the Qataris played a big role, working directly with Hamas rather than as an intermediary.

No hope for future peace if he represents wider Israeli attitudes.
