Could not understand a word.If the BBC cave in to Lineker, other employees will ignore impartiality rules, and I think that would be the end of the licence fee, and the end of the BBC as we know it.
In 2018 they said that impartiality rules didn't apply in Lineker's case because he wasn't a news or current affairs presenter. Only pressure from the government has caused this fiasco.
In 2018, there was a real problem with impartiality throughout the whole of the BBC. We know that because once impartiality was enforced, journalists like Maitless, Sopel and Marr all left to stand on left wing platforms.
Well, for balance and impartiality, Andrew Neill, Guto Hari, Anne Diamond, Michael Portillo, Simon McCoy, Neil Oliver, Mark Lonhurst, Adam Sherwin and doubtless others all of whom worked for the BBC decided that GB News would allow them to express their opinions more freely. In 2018, there was a real problem with impartiality throughout the whole of the BBC. The current lot don't wany impartiality, they want partiality in favour of the Tory government. No government representative must be challenged and any anti-government expression must be shut down. I find BBC news and current affairs output unwatchable now and haven't watched QT for years.

Impartiality.Anne Diamond hasn't worked for the BBC TV for 40 years! And Longhurst hasn't since the early 1990s
Neill now works for Channel 4, hardly a hotbead of Tory activity. Hari was sacked by GBN for taking the knee on air.
Portillo was a commentator and programme maker, not a regular journalist. So was Oliver. You cannot compare them with a Maitless or Marr or Sopel, who were so called political heavyweights.
McCoy did, I agree, leave the BBC saying he was surrounded by Labour and Liberals supporters.
Does Adam Sherwin make the tea?
Curious that you don't remember his politics but grateful that you recognise at least that it wasn't that which led to his demise at the hands of a government that doesn't like public criticism of its policiesAll I remember about Clarkson is him lamping someone. In terms of politics, I saw him as of the "a curse on all your houses" brigade
