All we need now is for Boris to open his gob Tough choice. Stand by the outraged Tory line in the face of a wave of opinion against the Beeb and the government or distance himself from the Sunak government because he believes it is to his advantage to do so. Looks like a win win for democratic free speech to me. Everyone tells me what a genius he is. So can't wait for him to show us his unerring instinct for getting it right. If Lineker tells the Beeb where they can stick it, I could see him standing as an independent at the next GE in Uxbridge and getting in.

The thing is though….no one has to read or listen to his opinions.
It’s just people getting outraged for outrages sake because they need something to be outraged about
Can't avoid the Twatter post at the moment
Don't Doubt his next opinion will be as difficult to avoid

Gary should go into politics
He could be the uks first black prime minister

If the BBC cave in to Lineker, other employees will ignore impartiality rules, and I think that would be the end of the licence fee, and the end of the BBC as we know it.

That wouldn't be a bad thing but it could also be said that if Lineker caves into the BBC then it could be the end of the licence fee and BBC. More division being sowed, we are masters of that in the UK at the moment

You're right, the BBC is in a state of disarray. A change is coming.

Yes. Hopefully. They will revert to not caving in to political pressure from anyone. Remind me whether there was the same outcry from the right wing rags when Clarkson was spouting his bullshit all the time instead of just destroying the planet.

All I remember about Clarkson is him lamping someone. In terms of politics, I saw him as of the "a curse on all your houses" brigade
