Has the DG of the Beeb been suspended yet pending clarification of his connections to Bojo at the time of his appointment? More importantly has any outrage been expressed by the right wing media about this political interference with our national broadcaster. No I thought not. But we're so lucky to have free press in this country and the right to express our views. How many times have I seen that in the Mail, the Telegraph and on hereP

So, reading through this stuff about Lineker, it seems many people on here aren't bothered whether our national broadcaster is impartial or not.
Fair enough, but surely anyone working for said organisation should not be airing their political views on air, whatever political hue it is?
Lineker didn't say this stuff on air so it's not the same I suppose, but anyone thinking that the present government in any way resembles the Nazis really should give their head a wobble.

He didn’t say they resemble the Nazis.

He said "This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the '30s, and I'm out of order?"

Which is true.

BBC presenters air their political views all the time. It’s just not a problem when it’s in support of the Tories.

If you compare government language to 1930's Germany, you're comparing it to the Nazis.

Here's a proposal for the Left. Let's get rid of the compulsory licence fee, then Jugs can say what he likes.

Which isn’t the same as saying they “resemble the Nazis”.

Lineker doesn’t need the money and can’t be cowed into toeing the party line which is what really offends the right and created this huge mountain out of a mole hill as they were with Rashford.

I disagree. It's a problem whichever party it's in favour of imo.
It was a comparison to the Nazis. Of course it was.

Which BBC presenters had you in mind, because a whole load have just left so they aren't bound by impartiality rules?
