For those of us without a spare 58 minutes, what's the long story short...?

NATO expansion and US interference in local politics, both in Georgia and Ukraine, helping Putin make up his mind about the invasion. It in no way excuses Russias actions, but asks that if Russia had made alliances with Mexico and Canada and starting placing airbases and troops near to the US border how that would've played out....

All part of the Great Game, of which we were one of the founders (along with Imperial Russia). I’m sure US interference hasn’t helped at all. Likewise China and Russia are at it all over Africa, South Asia and Latin and South America. It’s a ****ing disease that people ‘in power’ have……..the need to exercise ‘power’ at someone else’s expense, to think they are winning an un-winnable game, or defending some kind of vital national interest which usually has no relationship to the actual interests of real humans.

Just look at the Middle East to see the results of stupid ideology, political and religious, allied with venal bullies with power.

A curse on all their houses. No pasaran!

Listen to the Conflicted podcast……will give you a good insight into the Middle East, Western and Eastern interference and the how it shapes the vision of most of the world.

More tankie bollocks. NATO expanded in Eastern Europe because the countries wanted to join to defend themselves from Russian attacks. No one forced them to join.

It wasn't a far-right coup, it was the people rising up against a corrupt Russian puppet President. The twat had a zoo and a solid gold toilet ffs.

Yep….been a picket/demo of where the attackers live…..and being from a certain community there’s massive tension.
Sunday is a day when, traditionally they young of that community meet up in town and cause mayhem…..expecting a section 35

I was shocked to see paramilitaries marching in. Doesn't help anything. My sympathies are with the girl who was outnumbered and beaten, but it was one incident and the perpetrators have been arrested.

Sadly, from that part of the community, things like this are far too common…as can be seen quite clearly on a weekly basis in the town.

Absolutely right. Hitchens always refers to NATO as if it's one country

But that begs the question, has the US invaded Canada or Mexico recently? It's relations with Canada are good, and with Mexico, which is a bit of a governmental head case, reasonable.

Russian is reaping from its immediate neighbours what it has sown
