Of course they're selfish. Zealots usually are. They don't give a toss about individuals they damage, they're doing it for themselves, their kids or grandkids. And, in building up in the public resistance to them, the are also building up a resistance among some to fighting climate change.
They could make their point about the important issue of climate change, without putting other people at risk. Take a leaf out of the suffragettes book.
