Leading on from the current debate on here and reading some great opinions from posters like @Stroller, @Goldhawk-Road and @sb_73, amongst others who I genuinely respect but don’t always agree.

Isn’t this whole concept of ‘belonging’ rather silly and bizarre ?
I mean whether it’s belonging to Britain, the EU, your race, your religion…even our football team……isn’t it all just rather pointless and in the end harmful to all of us ?
Is it just that us as human beings inherently feel the need to belong to something….anything….that somehow gives us some kind of identity, and possibly superiority over others who aren’t in our gang ?

Any opinions for me to think about ?

Sorry if I might be rambling bollox but it gets me through the long runs to think about this stuff
****in hell staines, you need to take the kids out to a theme park again

I thought it was a cracking game of tennis from 2 young players, very enjoyable to watch. Im not particlarly into tennis but the fact that we had a british player in the final made me watch it. If she wasnt representing britain then i most likely wouldnt have bothered. That about sums it up for me.

Me too.

But that’s part of it though…..what makes us feel we ‘belong’ to QPR and them Chelsea…..but following England away it was all English together ?
Again….it’s all rather bizarre when you really think about it

It's tribal isn't it?
Basic human instincts I suppose.

I quite like 'belonging' to our QPR family, especially at away games, with that feeling of a few of us against the world.
I realise it's a bad thing when taken to extremes, from football violence to full scale wars, but I'm not sure humans will ever attain the "one world" utopia, which I'm sure we'd all agree would be a good thing, although I'd miss cheering England on in everything from football to tiddlywinks. :emoticon-0100-smile

We don't always agree Col... But this is exactly it. Thank you

I enjoy belonging to my little tribe. I hope I/ we don't take it to extreme... But that is why we are actually here on this forum. This QPR forum

We have a mutual interest ...here it is QPR...we can say Dickie is a d*CK, and we all know what we are taking about ( no he isn't...that was just an example...cool down!).

We can all rant about Reading false hoops or the Rupert's.
As long as we don't take it too far..we are all in it together. We are all one!

It is a degree of moderation in our tribalism.

Long may it live...you Rrrs

And although many on here don't get it, that's how I feel about my Country too Beth.

I do get it Col... completely.

It is why you and I clash horns over Rugby ( my father's team as I have explained).

It is quite acceptable to clash horns.
I would take it no further, I don't think you would either. That is acceptable and okay.
Iget it ..and I think most people here do too.
