I saw a great documentary on Sky about his poetry.
I think it was Sky Arts a while back... If not it was one of those late BBC2 things. It was really good.Do you know what channel Ellers ? I’d like to see it as I think it’d be great viewing

Okay just did a bit of research for you. I think it was:
Gil Scott Heron “The revolution will not be televised” if you type that in it will let you see on Facebook or some other platform.

I saw that - excellent.
I remembered posting something about him on here and couldn't think what it was, but it just came back to me. Gil Scott-Heron's father played for Celtic!
What's the word?
loot responsiblyBreaks my heart to see the chaos erupting in South Africa. Just saw the devastation in Umhlanga, where I visited years ago and where I met some of the most lovely and amazing Zulu people.
So sad

Yeh,fakk Brexit! In other news, just experienced the joys of Brexit. My wife and I got residency cards in 2019, so we can live and work in France. Vaguely crossed our minds about the kids, but not got them theirs...they were both born in Paris.
Just been told by border control, our kids do need the cards for travel, and that there is a chance they won't be allowed to return to France with us at the end of our holiday. This is both frustrating, but has also meant there is a chance I'll have to stay in the UK (where I can work remotely) with the kids, and my wife will have to return to Paris for work after our holiday.
She doesn't seem as upset as I'd have hoped at the prospect of returning to Paris without me or the kids for a week or two.

Interesting, i thought GB news was open to free speech and opinions? Obviously not. Maybe people arent watching it cos its actually **** instead.Exciting stuff going on at GB News, the cradle of free speech in this craven, woke country.
Presenter Guto Harri took the knee during a discussion on the abuse of England players. He explicitly said that it was in solidarity with the players and, like them, a gesture against racism and not in support of the political movement BLM. Seems that he, like most vaguely sentient people, was able to tell the difference.
Cue outrage amongst the channel’s core viewer group, which now appears to be about eight people, who threatened to boycott the channel because of the offence this sight caused them (isn’t that a woke response? Cognitive Gammonance!).
The defiantly anti cancel culture GB News immediately took Harri off the air, ie cancelled him. The Director of Programming resigned over the whole thing. Andrew Neil, still on his well earned sabbatical after the initial two weeks broadcasting, tweeted that it’s all ‘teething problems’.
Meanwhile the viewers carried out their threat. Or perhaps they had something else on, like a jumble sale or a protest against affordable housing plans in their area. On the 1.00pm - 1.30 time slot last Wednesday, BBC News had 62,000 viewers, Sky News 50,000, and GB News, with their flagship lunchtime show hosted by Liam Halligan and Gloria de Piero had……..none. That’s zero, nought, no measurable viewers. Another show at 5.00 pm the same day, hosted by some ex UKIP person, also had, officially, no one at all looking at it.
Not knowing whether you are for or against free speech and cancel culture seems to be quite a fundamental bit of ideology rather than a ‘teething problem’, but who cares anyway as no one is watching. After all the fuss about advertisers boycotting the channel now they will would be mad to waste their money buying time for slots no one will see.
Brilliant, no need to refer to this abject failure again. Expect for comedic effect of course.
I can’t say I’ve watched more than a few minutes and that was when it started up. It seems to me that many people who are vocal supporters of the channel and what they think it stands for (it’s beyond me to articulate this, because, as you say -politely- it’s hypocritical) also aren’t watching it. Because it’s crap, presumably.Interesting, i thought GB news was open to free speech and opinions? Obviously not. Maybe people arent watching it cos its actually **** instead.
