Don't fret - Channel 4 News will still be there, speaking to itself and a few 1970's socialists

Don’t get me wrong it’s no bad thing to have a range of news options per se. But to pretend this is at best going to be anything but confirmation bias for crying gammon about how hard done by they are is just lame.

For the same reason it bothers me outlets like The Mail drip feed people xenophobic nonsense over decades.

That's your perspective, but we have a free press, so suck it up and bury yourself in the Guardian. And there's a need to have a centre right news channel after years of left wing/Remain bias from Sky and BBC. I have a feeling the channel will be a great success and it's an astute business move for Neil et Al. Neil's done this before. He was one of the founders of Sky

Neither are great. Really tactless to see the selfish silver lining on Covid, when people have died - but, yes, Boris should know his own bloody rules. He is (or was before he went down with Covid) a showman and is useless with detail

And that’s the problem for the Tories now I feel. Other than his obvious fan boys, even a lot of die hard Tories are getting fed up of the bumbling buffoon. Adding to the fact that Starmer comes across as far more statesman like and voteable.....it’s a recipe for disaster for them.
Surely they have to ditch the oaf sooner rather than later

Boris has to get his act together or he'll be replaced by his party. They are already demanding a say in Parliament on Covid issues. They will be ruthless if he upsets enough of them.

Starmer hasn't put a foot wrong, but he hasn't put a foot right. He has really not done much. His problem is with his MP's saying stupid stuff about Covid advantage or getting charged for harassing members of the electorate (yesterday), voters might think he's ok but won't trust those behind him. And the Momentum/Blairite struggle within the party is just below the surface

We do, but the press have a responsibility that isn’t upheld by certain right wing media outlets and we’re poorer as a society for it. Quite literally in a few months. If you really think the BBC and ****ing Sky are left wing then you’re beyond help anyway.

I don’t doubt it’ll be a success. I just hope it doesn’t go full gammon to appeal to/outrage the simplest ****s in the country.

Totally mate......but I’m thinking most Left wingers in the Labour Party have now either gone or have been won over....the civil war is over.
Others like me are willing to vote Labour for the greater good....doesn’t bode well for ‘Mop head’, whichever way you look at it

The BBC and Sky are known to be left wing and Remain. Even they mostly admit that! If you can't see it, you must be so far left you're out of sight. Burley. Boulton. Boulton is married to Angie Hunter who was Blair's PR person.

GB News won't be Fox News. It'll be more intellectual than that, but it will be centre right.

I think you'll find they haven't gone or been converted. They're licking their wounds and staying quiet. The best hope for Starmer is that they stay quiet until he gets into power, then they'll be blood letting imo

Nah mate you’re wrong. The hard left have left the building.
Either way......doesn’t look good for the Tories

The Tories could rescue their situation with a roaring successful brexit though. They really do need to get rid of Johnson and Cummings asap. People are seeing through their bullshit and turning away from them.

When the time comes they’ll present themselves as the only real option to save the country from the current government’s various shambles and enough ****ing mugs will go for it again, sadly.
