I think you will find that these are not the only countries in the EU Ellers. They are all EU citizens, along with the French, Germans, Belgians, Dutch and Scandinavians - any attempt to differentiate between EU citizens and treat them differently at the point of entry into the country will lead to a negative reaction on this side of the Channel. Tourists from America, Japan and China (do you really want the last under the present circumstances ?) tend to be doing the grand tour of Europe and can, currently, enter Britain on a visa from the EU - in future they would need 2 visas. Something like 60% of foreign visitors to London are short term visitors from geographically close neighbours - London is only 2 hours train journey from Brussels (ie. about the same travelling time as from Manchester). Do not think for one minute you can separate the German guest from the Rumanian one, according to their nationality. All the crap i read on here from some posters... ended up being utter crap.
I think you will find the 3 countries I mentioned are renowned for being big spenders in London. I know from the company I work for.

Doesn't tell you how much they are spending it just says who is staying. It doesn't tell us what sort of money is spent in which hotels? The french are notoriously tight with money as are the Spanish... The Americans Chinese and Japanese are not You charts prove nothing. Remember a member of my family works in Business travel. All the big money comes from the Americans and Chinese.
So you are only worried about the big hotels charging over 100 quid per night, whereas all of the smaller, and cheaper, bed and breakfast establishments, and hostels, can go to the wall ? All of those establishments which do not deal in 'big money' ie. the majority. The fact is that a Belgian is able to make a spontaneous decision to have a long weekend in London and, by virtue of the distance, can do so several times per year - a form of travel (and frequency) which is not possible for eg. the Chinese. There is also the question of the collateral damage of Brexit - people go where they feel welcome, and Britain is not sending out welcoming signals in any direction. I do not really have to 'get over' anything - Britain has left, but the future relationship to the rest of the Continent has not yet been decided.

This doesn't take into account that visitors from countries like the Netherlands, France or Germany are more frequent travellers than those from China (where the visit may be a once in a lifetime event). Also you should read my last post - you give the impression that you are not worried about the thousands of people in zones 2-3 who let rooms in order to survive. I should also add that you cannot measure anything by Visa/credit card statistics - precisely because most German tourists don't use them, coming from a nation of cash payers.
