Nick Conrad left BBC Radio Norfolk after saying that women should “keep their knickers on”
Boris Johnson was under pressure tonight to ditch a Conservative parliamentary candidate who said that women should “keep their knickers on” during a radio discussion about rape.
The prime minister criticised Nick Conrad today for the remarks, which were made in 2014 while he was a presenter at BBC Radio Norfolk, but did not remove him as a candidate.
Mr Conrad, 34, left his job as the breakfast show host last week and was selected to stand in the safe Norfolk seat of Broadland last night.
He made the remarks during a discussion in 2014 about the footballer Ched Evans’s rape conviction, which was overturned on appeal in 2016. Mr Conrad said at the time that women who “don’t wish to give out the wrong…
