There's a lot of bollocks said (and posted) about the negative impact of the Benn act on UK negotiations. Cummings and Johnson didn't want a deal at all - and showed no sign of trying to get one - until their hand was forced by the 'Get Your ****ing Fingers Out Act' (as I have chosen to call it). Does anyone really think that we would be this close to a deal without it?
If Hammond has got it right ( he sounded most believable of any Tory I've heard) it's a deal for NI only, and for the rest of the UK a No deal with WTP terms, dressed up with pink lipstick as a deal.
