What has compounded a totally stupid tweet was his response saying those criticising have diseased minds. Danny's trouble is he thinks he's so clever but clearly not that clever...

It says a lot about him that he thinks the Beeb were wrong to fire him over it. But actually right or wrong doesn't come into it for me. Any employee of a major broadcaster who doesn't know that an action like that will lose them their job is either a complete idiot or seeking victimhood. Put it this way - if I posted that on Facebook and someone told my employer (the Govt) I suspect I'd be down the Job Centre - and quite rightly so. Comes back to what Stan was saying about whether you're able to do your job properly.

I don't particularly like Danny Baker but I'm convinced this was just a total brain fart. Totally I'll judged but that's the thing with a brain fart, good judgement temporarily alludes you.

Well, I’ve liked his radio stuff, hated anything scripted and on TV, agree he is terminally up himself but nevertheless sometimes a great broadcaster.

He's a brilliant broadcaster but this tweet was incredibly stupid. I don't for one minute think he's racist, though.

Anyone familiar with his radio show would know that he has a running joke about pitching a TV show called 'Monkeys Dressed as Famous People'. I'm guessing this tweet was along these lines. I don't believe he would have even considered the potentially racist connotations and he took the thing down when it was pointed out to him. Stupid, yes, deserving of a sacking, probably, but deliberately racist, I don't think so.
