This thread is just a microcosm of our country, the EU and our own parliaments brexit tussle....

I am sure we have had our own debates with family/friends/work colleagues over this issue and quite frankly I have given up second guessing what will happen. So I am in effect sitting back and watching this unfold with an almost detached sense of fascination...Its like slowing down to see the aftermath of a car crash on the M25. We shouldn't, but we all do it. Strange times.

But I am pretty sure whatever happens, aporoximately 50% of people will be hacked off!
You have to give the PM some credit for her inclusive approach - she appears to be hell bent on ensuring that 100% of the country will be hacked off with the outcome...

Sadly bob, without sounding too condescending your original question was too embarrassing to answer. if my 5 yr old son asked me that I would have told him to grow up. You then decided to get nasty by referring to me as certain things. You then turned your attention onto Goldie and he gave up with you. I know your game and I can't be bothered to answer your rubbish. Remember you told us you didn't understand the vote. Then you mock good posters. It's a good way to getting yourself ignored.
Now, I may have a few run ins with other posters but they know me and know sometimes I can have a laugh but I am sure most know I respect and read their posts. But sadly tonight we have seen another side of you. Getting nasty won't get you anywhere fella.
Just say I don't want to answer that question as it will make me look foolish. As for goldy, he made a statement, I questioned it and got no reply except how powerful this man tusk is over British lives. Give me some examples then mate. He spends our money....erm how exactly? Lightbulbs and hoovers...oh that explains it. You are actually a stereotypical brexiteer ellers, Says things but cant back them up. Goldy I thought more of until that statement which even he knows was a bit silly. You crack on ellers, avoiding anything that will upset your apple cart. Put me on ignore if you cant handle being pulled on your nonsense and don't be scared of answering that simple question, the whole country wouldn't like to although some have more integrity than others.

Apologies if I have upset anyone regarding questioning certain posters over their comments. Maybe I should just take them as gospel in future....... **** a bulb has gone in my kitchen....that bastard Tusk!

Will try a different approach. Will you please answer my question, pretty please ellers. Pretty pretty please. Did you UNDERSTAND that when you voted leave, a deal would be propositioned by our PM, to be agreed upon by the EU, for her to then tear it up and go back asking for an alternative to her propositioned deal? It's a very straight forward yes or no answer that's required really. You mock me for saying that I didn't understand. I fully admit that hence not being able to make my mind up when voting.

Like Mr Surrey says
Half the country will still be pissed off so to me that has always been the focus point

How can half the U.K. drive the country forward ?
It will plate spinning for decades
No change or reform to U.K. politics so imagine mini Brexits on every new law that needs to be written

Culturally we will want to spend as we did and lump up debt while pretending we are world leaders

Meanwhile the clock is ticking
Imo get out and live a bit

I’m afraid not Bob, after that date we lose our veto, as does every other country in the EU.
Can you post a link to the part of the Treaty that says this? I can’t find it. The EU is responsible for monetary policy (not fiscal policy which includes tax) for all countries which have adopted the Euro. The Treaty gives it powers over tax in relation to the working of the Single Market - every change has to be unanimously agreed in the Council of Ministers (not the EU Commission or EU Parliament) ie the elected heads of member states governments.

https://ec.europa.eu/taxation_custo...-strategy/lisbon-treaty-tax-legislation-eu_en

Of course if you don’t like the very idea of the EU, which has the aim of economic integration from which fiscal and political integration is an inevitable consequence, you won’t like anything about it and should get out. Usefully the Treaty of Lisbon provided the legal means for member states to leave through Article 50. You might have noticed that this is what the UK is attempting (ineptly I agree) to do.

In other news I am ****ing furious, completely livid, that some bastard got the police involved in the case of a very dignified 80 year old man with motor neurone disease who will end his life on his own terms today in Switzerland. Because his wife helped him organise this and get him to the airport and the police were made aware they have had to interview her. They are unlikely to take anything forward, thankfully, but obviously this has been incredibly stressful for both her and her husband, who had explicitly tried to protect her from this kind of crap.

Anybody who knows what Corbyn represents and believes in doesn’t need to see the video Ellers. Corbyn was a disciple of Tony Benn who was fanatically and very publicly anti EU, and an organisation like the EU is anathema to the true hard left, as Stainsey, our resident anarcho-syndicalist, has pointed out. His anti EU voting record since entering Parliament is spotless.

But while it isn’t news to Stainsey and myself it might be to a lot more people, including many ‘new’ pro European entrants to the Labour Party and many others who will vote Labour. If they can’t be arsed to find out what the people they vote for actually believe, when it is there all over the Internet, that’s their lookout.

It’s quite fun when you see characters like Benn and Enoch Powell and Corbyn and Rees Mogg on the same side, like the end of Animal Farm when the pigs are indistinguishable from the humans.

Anyone who has ever followed politics knows corbyns a brexiteer. You would really need to be a muppet not to know that

You can see why the EU are acting like they are. They now know the games over. Just have a look at twitter and the amount of people who are saying they voted remain but now want out especially after todays comments. Nigel Farage has just said that preperations for no deal in this country are actually going very well.

EU prepares for looming no-deal Brexit — and ensuing blame game

If you read my post I said I knew he was a Eurosceptic but after listening to that video I was shocked just by how much. Plenty of others in the press and media have said the same. Are they mupets as well? Tell us all when you heard him referred to the EU as Frankenstein?
