Did your (eligible) kids vote Col? The 50% of my offspring that could, did. And he works far harder than I did at his age, I’m amazed he doesn’t collapse. And I’m sure your lads put a proper shift in too. Let’s not over generalise now.

They did mate.
The younger one is at uni, but the older one works his nuts off, especially in this heat, as a bricklayer.
I'm not meaning to over generalise, it's just that we're always told that had the younger generation voted in the same numbers as the older generation, we would have been staying in.
Plus, I do find that an awful lot of 16-25 year olds seem to complain about everything and find offence at everything.

I'm not scared of a second vote and I don't think I said I was. I'm just against referendums being re-run till certain sections of the population and ruling classes get the result they want. The EU, of course, have previous in this regard.

We had a vote in the 70s and we're having another now because it was clear that this Country was ill at ease with being run by the EU. Nearly 17.5 million people demonstrated that.
Maybe we'll have another one in 40-50 years. I don't have a problem with that, especially as I believe we'll have prospered outside the EU and also that it won't exist in a few years anyway.

The percentages in all votes often seem unfair, but it's the best system we have imo.
Fact remains, had more of your age group voted we may have stayed in. That is democracy as they didn't bother.

It was an utterly ridiculous topic to put to a referendum as it’s very clearly not as simple as a binary stay/go decision (unless you choose to be simple enough to see it that way), hence the utter mess and lack of progress we find ourselves in two years down the line.

While most of your post is genuinely stupid, the first paragraph is simply a lie as proven since.

We also now know far more about the EU than we did in the 70s, like for instance the increasing political alignment. In the 70s we were told it was only a trade thing. Should that vote have been re-run as soon as these things became clear?

Rees-Mogg won't allow May to make a deal and I don't believe Parliament will allow a no-deal Brexit to happen. None of the Tories will want a General Election, so there really isn't anywhere else to go than a further referendum it seems to me.

As we seem to be dealing as much in hypotheticals as in facts, just for fun, what would your position be if we had another referendum, there was a similar turnout, and Remain won on a similar 52-48 margin? Would that be sufficient evidence to overturn the original referendum and put an end to it in your mind?

What if it was (say) 53-47 in favour of Brexit the next time?
