We were a bunch of awful human beings

Disgraceful

Yes both countries have not covered themselves in any glory at all. French possibly worse imo but they have put things right a lot better. We had our history changed to suit us

The world has changed in 80 years
Must be time to forgive and forget

Agreed. WWII history very quickly changed to blame the war on the Nazis rather that the Germans. Perhaps we need a collective noun for the Britons of yesteryear in order to distance ourselves from their atrocities?

Return of the barter economy!

Thought my son was working on site yesterday, but turns out he was doing a bit of painting and decorating at his local, 20 yards over the road from where he lives. Instead of paying him they put £100 on a tab for him behind the bar.

Despite the fact that this will be gone by Thursday latest, I think this is brilliant. And the exchequer still gets its cut through the extrortionate duty on booze.

Seems a lot of Kippers are unhappy with their party Leader. But they voted for him didn't they?

Once you've had a vote, you can't change your mind. Ever.

Stroller I don't think anyone has said you cant have another vote. I think what most have said is that you need to implement something first. So in this case of UKIP, they voted, he won they tried it out and has made a pigs ear from it and now they want him out.
Same with Brexit lets leave and see how we get on and say in 40yrs if it's not working we should reapply.

Talking of Brexit debate I am not happy today!
That wimp David Davis basically said that we will be under EU law, open immigration, and the rest of the rubbish for an extra 2 years without getting a say at the EU table! wimp sell out muppets!

Have a look at this chart and think about which party was in power for these years. It’s not as black and white as you would like it to be. It’s been bad since 2010 with all this austerity crap.

Blair increased funding to the NHS a lot in his second term. No facts are ‘simple’ when it comes to this kind of stuff.
