I guess it depends on how you quantify 'winning' - Labour didn't get a mandate, but it was the best result since 1945 for any party in terms of the swing. Plus having blown a 21 point lead in the polls, it all adds up to a complete omnishambles for the Conservatives who now have to go cap in hand to a fringe party that are anti-abortion, anti-gay, climate deniers, anti women's rights, pro the pensions triple lock (which the Tories want abolished). They also want to; "Prioritise spending on our Health Service, create more jobs and increase incomes, protect family budgets, raise standards in education for everyone and invest in infrastructure." Which again is the antithesis of the Conservative perspective when you consider the devastating cuts to education, social care, house building and the heath service under the last administration.

So, no... Labour didn't win, but we jolly well do know who lost don't we?
We have a Government propped up by a bunch of fundamentalists. Makes you proud, doesn't it?

Think I'll give this place a miss for a bit. Not sure I can handle all the gloating!!

This was an anti-austerity result, pure and simple. Some are trying to say that it is an anti-brexit result, but if that were the case, the Lib Dems would have had a much larger share.

Interesting time ahead.

Politics? I've **** it!!

You didn't even get a season ticket out of the fiasco, bad luck mate. You may well be right about austerity, in the end that's what I voted on.

Many of them only remain members of Parliament thanks to the Corbyn/McDonnell manifesto. A Blairite campaign would have seen Labour annihilated. Those that don't want to work with Corbyn should take Johnson's lead and also retire.

Strange that we've heard nothing from Lord Mandelbore, who said at the start of the campaign that Labour would be also-rans and never win with a left-wing manifesto. Labour may not have won but May has been left as the lamest of lame-ducks, getting into bed with the ragbag DUP she is just three rebels away from losing key votes. I just can't see her surviving more than six months especially if Brexit talks look gloomy...

Owen Smith was big enough to admit that he'd underestimated Corbyn, so he'll be up for a Cabinet post in October.
