Very unlikely to have been a teacher, I could hire a car and give my profession as a brain surgeon...
There have been exceptions though, some have not been heroes ...

There's a picture in tonight's Standard that must have been taken a split-second after that one, Nines, and It gives a very different impression of the woman in the head-scarf. She looks genuinely distraught in the Standard pic. I can't find it online, I'm afraid.
I dunno, a couple of my teachers at Wren could have been terrorists!Very unlikely to have been a teacher, I could hire a car and give my profession as a brain surgeon...

Interesting reply?I merely pointed out that nothing can be done until a law is broken (inciting hatred etc) to suggest they are arrested or deported before such time is very Orwellian indeed. Cast your mind back to secondary school when you read 1984, 'thought crime' ring any bells?
Anyway, people I've come across who use phrases such as 'yogurt knitters' and say things along the lines of 'if you've got nothing to hide you've got nothing to fear' tend to be the most closed minded people i meet, so enjoy your rage.

It's great to see that London's Black Cabs are ferrying people out of the Westminster area for free, whereas Uber are taking the opportunity to use today's incident to surcharge 3x their usual fare.

A very good, detailed piece about the Tory election fraud investigations.......

What strikes me is how well organised they were and how relatively small the disputed amounts are. However, as the report says, British elections are designed to be cheap so that everyone has a fair chance. Small sums of illegal money can make a huge difference to results. The Electoral Commission report states that there was a realistic prospect that the Tory undeclared spending had “enabled its candidates to gain a financial advantage over opponents.”
'Slowly, a chilling prospect emerges that British politics, our relationship with Europe and the future of our economy, were all transformed following a contest that wasn’t a fair fight.'
Wowzers, who'd have thought the Guardian of all newspapers would carry that story!
It's a story that CH4 News have been running for about a year, Uber, whilst the BBC wouldn't touch it. Who'd have thought that?
Prefer it from this source Ubes me old mucker?Wowzers, who'd have thought the Guardian of all newspapers would carry that story!
Sad truth is it doesn't matter where the story comes from or how many versions of it there are, those people still wouldn't vote Labour with that muppet Corbyn as leader...

That may well be true Sooper, but at least 9 of the seats were Liberal/Tory marginals. There must be a reasonable chance that the Liberals could win some or all of them back in by-elections.
Frankly I'm completely uninterested with it as a story, so opted for laffs instead.![]()

I think we should have another election so the Tories can win fair and square.
This really brings it home.
We were in London last October and visited the Houses of Parliament. An officer by the name of Keith Palmer was happy to pose with us for a photo once he learned that we had travelled all the way from Alice Springs in the Northern Territory, Australia.
It sent a shiver down my spine when I realised Keith was the officer who was killed in the London terror attack which took place last night.
I spoke with Keith for quite a while and found him to be a genuinely nice bloke. He said he would love to visit Australia with his family one day. The girls suggested if he did make it to Australia, he should visit Alice Springs and we would show him how special a place it is.
That will never happen now, all because he was doing his job and trying to keep people safe in the face of yet another crazy terror attack. Our thoughts are with his wife and family.
With everyone so suspicious of everyone else these days, he was happy to chat and smile for a photo with a bunch of Territorians on holiday whilst still remaining vigilant and carrying out his duties as a police officer.
