What's a decent news outlet Ellers? The BBC or Sky News? It is a big story over here and is affecting how long people have to wait when renewing their passports. Mine is up in the next month or so and I expect a new one will take between 1 to 2 months to be processed. As soon as article 50 is triggered, the numbers will probably increase even more. You keep promising us the EU will collapse shortly. Let's wait and see if that happens or not.

My wife is renewing hers, estimated time is just under three months, that's via the embassy in London though. The little one still has a uk passport, estimated two weeks to renew that! Will get her both eventually.

We have to leave the Single Market don't we, because otherwise we don't have control of our borders? We have to reduce immigration don't we, because they take jobs from British workers? It's great that unemployment is down, it means the economy is doing well doesn't it? Well, not necessarily. Immigration from the EU is already falling, because potential migrants are being put off by what they might find when they get here. Some who have been here for years are considering leaving. It's what we voted for though, so it has to be good though doesn't it? Well, not necessarily. It means we don't have sufficient people to the jobs that the fifth (or is it sixth now?) biggest economy in the world requires.

This is how post-referendum Britain makes some immigrants feel - this lady's husband has been here 47 years.

What an unpleasant country we are becoming.

The War Criminal Blair weighs in.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-38996179

"Our challenge is to expose relentlessly the actual cost, to show how this decision was based on imperfect knowledge which will now become informed knowledge, to calculate in 'easy to understand' ways how proceeding will cause real damage to the country and its citizens and to build support for finding a way out from the present rush over the cliff's edge."

What an utterly despicable piece of **** he is. I hope all his dead haunt his dreams until his dying day and beyond. Abominable.

I need to stay away from this thread today. Aaaaand breathe.....

BLIAR, is a f*cking twat. Why does't he and the rest of those that want another referendum just accept that the democratic vote went against them and pipe down? Jesus, we have VOTED to leave, now f*ck off!

I can explain why. He doesn't think Brexit is a good idea and he has a media platform to speak from.

The UK had 30+ years of being in the EU. All that time, there was an increasingly strident group of people protesting against EU membership for one reason or another. That was their democratic right. This is Blairs, too - or anyone else that wants to continue to point out why they don't want Brexit.

It won't stop it, but they shouldn't be stopped, either - unless we want our country to become something quite different. Some people would like that - and for them, leaving the EU is the excuse and opportunity, not the end game.

That protest campaign over the last 30 years was mainly media-driven. The EU doesn't make it easy for the "media elites" like the owners of most newspapers and radio/TV stations to get what they want without proper scrutiny. Even now, those outlets continue to propagate lies as truths to get ordinary people angry. Angry people don't look closely at things sometimes. The people who want to do things that you might not like are hoping so, anyway.

So, when you are completely angry at Blair and people you judge to be the same as him, take care. That is the time when you'll be asked to agree that people like him should not be allowed access to the media, or to organise meetings. Maybe even that some political parties should be banned. If you're angry enough, you might agree. Don't.

I learnt a new phrase this morning. "Faux-patriot". That's someone who uses the idea that they are the only people who are patriotic, as a way to silence disagreement and close down discussions they don't want to discuss. It was a popular concept in the 1930s. It fooled a lot of people into giving support to something they weren't so proud of when they realised what it dragged them into.

Ordinary people need to be careful who they give their support to, why, and what the people they are supporting will do in their name that ordinary people did not expect or want.

And in other news...

James Dyson, a man who supported Brexit because it will make Britain richer, has apparently announced he has built a new R&D centre in Singapore which starts operating this year. Why isn't he just further expanding his R&D in the UK?

Manufacturing of many Dyson products went from the UK to the far east in 2002, I believe.

Finglas I was being silly. As if I would trust Sky and BBC. Finglas I was being sarcastic about decent news outlets because there aren't many. Rte is probably better than most. I have also listened to some fab podcasts from Rte as well. :emoticon-0148-yes:

I think what Blair says is right, but I don't think he's the best person to be saying it.

Blair is absolutely right on Brexit. Unfortunately it is Corbyn who leads the opposition party that might have managed to stop Brexit with the support of the other opposition parties and some Tories.

Interesting that he states that the referendum was won on 'misleading information'. Is he not the most brass-necked hypocrite? The man who took us into an unlawful war based on misleading information...

Spot on (post of the day)! Although Watford's 'cash in hand' was very good.

Just another 'remoaner' that want's to try and derail the majority. The bloody thing was voted on and we are leaving. Why cant these tw22ts accept it and get on with it.
You can see all the 'remoaners' saying "well done Tony you are our hero and what you say is correct". Let's just forget about the lies and mis-information that took us into the wars and has now caused all the troubles. Hypocrites.

All these sob stories and one-off articles have been put there by our biased press. It really did make me laugh yesterday when Trumpton asked the BBC reporter who he was. Even he knows how impartial they are? :emoticon-0137-clapp
