The whole shooting match.
Well, taking the taxes first. We live in an age where 'ego' and 'individualism' have become the norm and so often forget that no man is an island. Someone else grows your food, someone else clothes you, someone else builds your house and your car and your roads, someone else makes the laws which protect you and your property, someone else educated you, I could go on and on. Every animal is less dependent on others than you are. Without the existence of the state, and the protection it offers, there is no such thing as private property. All of this state apparatus has to be paid for - and without it the rich man cannot become rich. So the rich man is a thief if he wants to take but not give in exchange. As for the woman you call Queen - she can call herself that, and you can use the title as well, but she will never hear it from me, nore will she receive any other recognition from me, other than that which she merits as a human being.

Many of the Royals are lazy hangers on, but Queen Elizabeth 2nd has been an outstanding Monarch and has almost certainly worked harder than you and for longer than I imagine you plan to.

Come the revolution I look forward to you stringing me up from the nearest lamppost.

I’ll be honest with you, Cologne, if you really, truly believe all of that then I fear there’s little point debating this any further with you. If there’s any common ground it’ll be somewhere 10 million light years beyond Alpha Centauri.

And having no privacy, the media in your face whenever possible, no choice about your life from birth.

I’m not a Royalist, but there are far more important battles to fight. I wouldn’t wish their lives on anyone.

You seem to be a bit of a sauerkraut.

No privacy ? She’s probably the most protected and cosseted monarch in the world. I cant personally remember much scandal being reported about her maj ‘cos I expect the vast majority of the media wouldn’t dare.

Would you swap places Stainsey? Political positions aside, would you want the life of a Royal?

I am not doubting that she has been a harder worker, it is the position I do not accept - not her as a person, or the way she performs that position. Actually I will be working for a number of years yet, planned or not.

So what concrete difference does you ‘not accepting’ the position of monarch actually make?

I won't be stringing anyone up after revolutions uber. I have said that I don't recognize her position and title - but that is a different thing to wanting to bring her down and force her to live in a council flat. I have said - if you, and a majority, want to call her Queen then fine.

As I’m currently unemployed as of last week (my choice as I’ve taken VR to leave the monotonous crap my job had become), you can bet your life I would. First class travel, Turkish delight and not having any worry about how long my money will last........ when do I start ?

Yeah, I think he’s a git too. He’s wrung that Falklands chopper pilot bit for all it was worth and is now possibly the biggest tosser in the family, which is quite something given some of the other candidates.

Yes, Edward's a tosser too, wimped out of army training after just a few months, and now dresses up in military uniforms - the dazzling colours and flamboyance of which would embarrass an Italian general - at every official royal gathering. God knows what medals he wears represent - scrabble perhaps or corgi walking.

Anne is the only worthwhile one among the kids.

None in the global order of things. As I'm hardly ever likely to meet her it doesn't really make any difference to her or me. The truth is that I don't 'accept' any form of hierarchy. I have no problem with the man stood next to me but have a great problem if he presumes to stand above or below me, or to try to exercise power over me.

I’ve got a final interview on Saturday for what I would say is my dream job....pays a third of what I was getting but came to the conclusion that it’s not all about the money but of doing something I could be proud of....failing that Tesco’s are always recruiting so I’ll get some employment I’d like to think.
I also get to keep my staff travel for the next 30 years.....but shame I’ll be so far down the list I’ll never get on even if I could afford the holiday :)

You don’t accept any kind of hierarchy? I assume you don’t work in any kind of organisation, and don’t have a boss. Do you accept the authority of the police, or judges? Do you accept the hierarchy of the ticket collectors on trains? Do you accept other people having a hierarchy - the manager of a football team for example? Loads of people have power over you, you yourself described the incredibly complex web of interdependence we all live in. Would your bins be emptied without a hierarchy? We are all powerless except in our own heads. Relax, enjoy it, it’s liberating.

Good luck mate. Any job that interviews on Saturday sounds interesting.
