Suella Braverman gives her religion as Buddhist by the way.

Puts Buddhism in a different light for me now

I've just been forwarded a Whatsapp voice message which purports to have Sadiq Khan suggesting that Armistice day should have been moved to another date to accommodate the pro-Palestinian march. This is obviously something that he would never say, so I can only the assume the message - which sounds genuine - was AI generated. Extremely scary.

Sadly, this kind of stuff is everywhere and will get a lot worse imo. Manna from heaven for naive conspiracy theorists

It's disgusting, but so obviously something that Khan wouldn't think let alone say, an obvious fake. It will have had its effect though on those that want to believe it, many of whom will be turning up in London tomorrow.

Yes, it's an obvious fake, but it's designed to stoke up rage. I'd like to think most people would see through it

I know a very rich private equity guy who’s a Buddhist and he’s ****ing ruthless. He’d have been in Saigon setting other people on fire.
It's all to do with Karma and the belief in reincarnation Uber - there's no such thing in this as an innocent sufferer. In this if **** happens you have deserved it.

OK, it seems we'll have to agree to differ on O'Brien - I happen to think he's the best broadcaster on British talk radio. I posted this because it's relevant to the Braverman discussion. Admittedly the last couple of minutes would probably have been sufficient, but what he said about how dangerous Braverman and the people who support her are is spot on. Of course 'cultural Marxism' doesn't exist, but it's a useful colourful dog-whistle phrase for those on the far right (it was taken up by Anders Breivik). It seems to me to be more often lazily used in relation to the (also mythical) 'woke agenda' that so many get worked up about than in anti-Semitic terms.

You can't 'self appoint' 1.5 million listeners, by the way. I'm looking forward to getting O'Brien's latest book (did he mention the title?) - I'll buy you a copy for Christmas.
He advertised it constantly for the little bit of the video I watched
You must stop copying and pasting without watching first

Well that would be an ideal development. Hope it goes somewhere and the Israelis give it a chance to grow….

We need the Palestinian people to totally turn, dig out all the Hamas fighters and hand them over to the Israelis....unfortunately can't see that happening, especially as Hamas have all the weapons.

Listened to a podcast today interviewing a Palestinian University lecturer hiding in what's left of his house, all you could hear were bombs going off and his kids screaming. The Israelis have drones flying about that can shoot at people. His estimate was 600 Hamas fighters killed with over 10,000 civilians slaughtered. It's a bloodbath from both sides, **** knows how it will end but it'll be a different world when it does

We also need Jews Worldwide to stand up against what Israel is doing and say ''Not in my name''. There is a growing movement in the USA called ''Jews for peace'' and there are many Jews also active in free Palestine movements. We need to be supporting them. Jewish religion and culture is over 3,000 years old but Zionism only has a history of just over 100 years and, initially, most Jews were anti Zionists, feeling uncomfortable with the creation of an ethno state in their name. This opposition only changing in the 1930s. There are still many Jews who are not Zionists and who feel ashamed of Israel who they see as an Apartheid state built on stolen land - and a land which is breaking every rule in the Talmud. Just as Palestinians need to review their relationship to Hamas Jews, both internationally and in Israel, need to stand up and be heard against the right wing nutters who have taken over Israel. Those who try to stifle debate by saying that all anti Zionism is automatically anti Semitism need to be drowned out of the debate because they are the real anti Semites. Just as Netanyahu feels very comfortable about being in the company of anti Semites such as Orban in Hungary or Kadjinsky (not sure about the spelling here) who are pronounced anti Semites, but not anti Zionist which is the only important thing fo Netanyahu. In fact the emerging far right loves Zionism because they like the idea of an ethno state.
