If the government were intending to make my resolve stronger then this is the way……more determined than ever now. After all , im just a ****ing driver eh ?

I'm wondering whether this might play to your advantage, Stainsey. At present, the public is broadly supportive of nurses and paramedics' pay claims. But that could change almost overnight if patients die as a result of the strikes.

If the army can save these lives, you avoid the reputation damage, and still make the point by showing your worth generally.

Im not sure mate….the media will still paint us as the bad guys, putting peoples lives at risk and being greedy in times when we all should be grateful to have a job.
Got nothing against the army boys/gals personally….they are just doing what they are told and have no choice in the matter.

It should be noted that LAS will continue to attend Cat 1 "Life or Limb" incidents, given the poor state the LAS have been put in this only what they get to anyway.

Even on strike they will still be working just as hard as normal.

"Where are you REALLY from?", a question that made headlines a short time ago but the complainant might be bitterly regretting the forensic attention she has unleashed. Her charity appears to have rather maverick financial management. Close friends include a well known Labour politician whose arithmetic is suspect...

Power and money corrupts it seems….wouldn’t be the first and won’t be the last

Telling the truth as always…funny how it’s the people in non-mixed race relationships, who take the most offence at this being pointed out

Paul Embury is dead right imo. TV Ads and TV productions have an agenda and are pushing this hard, which is patronising at best. A rather poor version of John Wyndham's Midwich Cuckoos recently showed a Buckinghamshire village with about half the villagers black or mixed race. Clearly to the makers of this production, the politics of it is more important than the reality.

I'm sure he's right that mixed-race couples are over-represented in advertising, but why should this bother him so much? It's obvious that advertisers would want to appeal to as many ethnic groups as possible. Not worthy of comment, really.

I remember the right-wing furore over the mixed-race family portrayed in the video for the opening ceremony at the 2012 Olympics. This was made to look pretty silly when Jessica Ennis-Hill won a gold for Britain.

What politics? Why should anyone care what colour skin an actor has?

TV these days is mostly a lecture on what we should be thinking.

They’ll have people on Coronation Street without Mancunian accents next. That’s if you can even still say MANcunian in POLITICALLY CORRECT BRITAIN ARGGGGHHHHH

Now that’s really strange Strolls, as I was just thinking that this was gonna be said. It just seems that if someone comments on something they see, that others will always say that it bothers them ?
Surely it’s a right of anyone to pass comment on something….either good or bad, without it actually ‘bothering’ them ?
it just seems to me, that it’s more the white, middle class, white/exclusive relationship holders that seem more bothered about these things being mentioned.
Again it’s all a bit “ Emperors New Clothes”

I don't much care what colour AN actor is. If there's a good black female actor to play Anne Boleyn, fine, although it does amuse me that the cultural appropriation clan stay silent on that (perhaps because the cultural appropriation stuff is part of cancel culture bollocks).

But if you portray a rural English village as nearly 50% black, it's unrealistic, and more than that, you know the producers have an agenda which, as I say, is patronising for the viewer. If I think I'm being patronised by anything on TV, I change channel.

They'd know, but I'd guess, give the impression that BAME represents 50% of the population and that mixed marriages are the norm. The latter is particularly patronising because there are some very successful mixed marriages and there's no need for some woke producer trying push them. Just reflect reality. It's subliminal stuff at times, like advertising, to educate and influence the masses in the way that certain media believes the masses should be educated and influenced

Can't quite believe the govt won't even discuss pay with the nurses union. Major own goal for them and will be another nail in their coffin.
