My wife came here from Kenya in March. We applied with a fiancè visa which we got..(lasts 6 months and have to get married in that period.)

Cost £1526

Then we got married in July and switched to Spouse visa so she can stay for 2.5 years and work. Also paid IHS (surcharge for NHS) which is compulsory.

Visa cost £1048
NHS cost £1560.

So me and my wife did legally. Over 4 grand but now she can stay and work. It is extortionate fees (plus she has job so pays tax towards NHS, yet still has to pay NHS subsidy?)

Anyway, if done properly is easy. I have minimal sympathy for dinghy people and it is out of hand.

Follow correct routes! Rant over.

Although I am not fully disagreeing with you, Surrey.
Your fiancé ...had a fiancé, then a husband, and £4000 and a job.

It is easy if you have it.

Not so easy, when you have run from your home in fear, with no money few connections, and just a desire to get out

And in 2.5 years we redo spouse visa and NHs charge (at same price so £2600 again) so get another 2.5 years, then in 2028 can get her indefinite leave.

That costs £2404.

So start to finish lets say 10k just to get wife here!

Money spinner

It was my £4000 lol but i know.

But something has to happen...where are the migrants going? How many hotels do we have? We are an Island so once here there is not much transient movement even if a refugee might want to move to Europe again. Its like a one way system with no way to move. Say like a migrant going from France to Belgium or Spain etc...From UK, once in is in (unless takes dinghy back to France!)

A desire to get out which includes passing through lots of safe countries
Unless you are saying all those people in dingies are french

I know what you’re saying, Will, but it’s not answering the question. I happen to think law & order and getting the rozzers back on the beat is more important than illegal immigration, but I’m willing to discuss any topic.

I don’t think you’ll find anybody on here that’s not incensed about the money spaffed away, some of it corruptly, during the pandemic and at other times.

I’d disagree as it’s only really brought up by a few of us whilst some focus on foreigners. It’s a great success by parts of the media and the corrupt ****s, that meme whilst simplistic is pretty spot on… and it’s working, well it doesn’t mention that the **** hogging all the cookies isn’t also getting more cookies for selling weapons to regimes who have blown the **** out of the ‘foreigners’ oven preventing him to bake any.

Yeah I’m not all that bothered about immigrants, I don’t see why I should have more concern for someone just because they had the luck of being born on the same rock in the ocean.

Based on the time, travel and documents required just to get my Thai wife a tourist visa for the UK, I imagine that process also took a lot of your valuable time as well as money Surrey?

Yes, I can see that about you.

I have a friend who is a refugee from the Lebanon, he has connections in all the wrong places.
He has studied here under a student visa, and then claimed temporary refuggee status (a ll the time risking being thrown out with little notice).
All the time he has been trying to get full status. He has been working and paying full tax etc now for over 5 years.

Last April he got it. Took 13 years.

Maybe that also is the reason people come on boats

60% of illegals coming in now are Albanian. The Albanian government has warned that many are intent on joining Albanian drug gangs in London. Several Border Force members have already been attacked by these people and two have been bitten. Just how ****ing stupid are we?

No, no, no.....

You've got it all wrong.

They're all poor, displaced families fleeing for their lives.

Apparently.

Emily Maitlis has said a BBC board member is an “active agent of the Conservative party” who is shaping the broadcaster’s news output by acting “as the arbiter of BBC impartiality”.

No ****.

No ****.

That’ll be the same agent that, alongside most of the right-leaning media, helped turn the tide against Boris, I suppose?

Everything is a massive **** show, Strolls… on every front.
