The story as far as I can tell from a quick glance at a story from the independent is that the visa office moved from Ukraine to the UK
He had trouble in 2020 getting a visa for his wife which I assumed he got.
The visa/passport renewal office in nz is also now in the UK
Requires extra hurdles but if you are allowed the visas etc you will get them
