An MP will stand trial accused of travelling between Glasgow and London despite knowing that she had COVID symptoms.
Margaret Ferrier is accused of wilfully exposing people "to the risk of infection, illness and death" by visiting various places in the Glasgow area and London having been told to self-isolate in late September 2020.
The 61-year-old was elected as the SNP MP for Rutherglen and Hamilton West in 2019 but has since been suspended by the party.
She has pleaded not guilty and will face a trial later this year.
It is alleged that she culpably and recklessly booked a COVID test, stating in the application that she had symptoms of the virus.

A good decision. The mum who nudged Insulate Britain mobsters with her car while trying to take her kids to school is currently on trial, probably for murder or attempting to resist terrorists. Let's hope a court sees sense here too.

You’re joking Goldie… that woman should have been knighted.

She's on trial for assault. Hope she doesn't get a Woke jury.

To be honest, she was stupid doing that and deserved to be prosecuted irrespective of how sympathetic one might be of her motives. I feel there’s a tenuous parallel with chucking statues into the drink - gotta separate the action and the sentiment.

It's not sentiment if you're trying to get your kids to school, and selfish xxxx's decide instead of carrying placards on the pavement, to break the law and sit in the middle of the road to deliberately stop you going about your daily life.

Blimey all she was doing was trying to take her kids to school and wasters (that’s wasters Stroller if you need me to clarify) have put her in this position. If she does get found guilty or fined then there will be an uproar.

Yeah, fair enough. Sentiment is the wrong word in this case, but unfortunately you’re not allowed to run them over (as much as they deserve to be). If the statue-dunkers can be acquitted then maybe this lady’s jury will do the same.
