Oliver Burkeman 1h PinkNews: JK Rowling under fire for putting her house right where some activists were taking a photo
bet they are trans activists too My money was on immigration as a distraction but no good old lgbtq+ is always a nice target
They are trans extremists, you're right. JKR says she's had enough death threats to paper her house. Nice people, trans extremists.
Apparently, but maybe not much longer now they've lost Stephen Dixon. Kay Burley's as popular as a bucket of sick.
Will it be trans extremists that will be brought up the next time Johnson makes a total **** up to distract? which let’s face it if his recent history is anything to go by will be any day now, or is it the turn of people in dingys? Wasn’t the pepper pig and incompetence delivered to cover up the bill they were slip through to protect the rich anyway, oh what a twisted web they weave, the Torys rife with corruption and full of sleaze

I found this story in the Times, after several pages of stuff about Johnson’s continual self inflicted humiliation. I don’t think it’s being used as a distraction and I think it’s beneath you to imply that it’s a non story, given the permanent level of threats that Rowling endures for speaking her mind. Whether you agree with her or not, does she not have the right to express herself? I’ll give an example from the opposite side of the coin. At the Imperial War Museum’s Remembrance Day event, a group of young people broke into a rap which alluded to the lack of memorials to West Indian, Indian, Egyptian, African dead who fought for Britain in two world wars and more, and Churchill’s role in the Bengal Famine. Members of the audience walked out and the IWM issued an apology. Why apologise for people they had invited and asked to perform doing what they were asked? If the instant response to hearing stuff we don’t like is to take offence and walk out, rather than having a conversation and agreeing to disagree, we are doomed. The rappers have the right to express themselves, just like Rowling. Neither, it seems to me are distracting from the **** up which is the U.K. government.
If it’s such a minor story whys it been brought up on here? Obviously any death threats like those that have been received by JK are disgusting and those who did it should be prosecuted. I just find it completely disingenuous the amount they are brought up on here, imagine if I brought up white supremacist extremists every time a black footballer or celebrity got a death threat. This thread would double in a couple of weeks.
I have a few people on ignore so perhaps I have a different take on the thread. But I misunderstood your post then, I thought you were implying that there was some sort of general Tory led conspiracy to distract from their performance. Frankly I don’t think what is posted on here is very influential anyway. Not even to the half dozen or so who actually look at it.
That’s fair enough. The truth is there’s good and bad in all demographics, I just find certain groups especially trans get completely skewed coverage, there was/is? a thread on here mocking them. It’d be like having a thread about white British and filling it from comments from the likes of Beryl from number 83 who thinks black people should go home.
Not sure any of that is relevant to the disgusting behaviour of trans activists, handing out death threats and posting pictures of a family's house in the hope that others will attack or otherwise intimidate the mother. The public are fast losing any sympathy they may have had for their cause.
