Only if I had recorded the discussion or had it in writing, Goldie Otherwise they would deny it. This is the unseen prejudice, that goes on in the background.
I dont see it as a distraction. This maybe someone stirring up the issue to inflame a situation but in my opinion, you can only judge each policy as an individual thing. I also disagree with yourself and beth in terms of its men that hold all the cards and men who are responsible for all the ills. This is actually brilliant beth and i think it is a good diagram on an issue that is far more complex. I will agree with this in principle and that those sorts of things as you say could help to reinforce someone who is for want of a word psychopathic as i don't think a normal human being/man would consciously go rape someone because there is a "lad" culture. People know the line and having a think about it now, i think the bigger problem is pornography, a hyper sexualised society, sex and sexualisation is embedded in our culture, in adverts, on tv, in the media. This sort of contradicts what i wrote earlier about knowing the line but i think is just as big as contributing factor. To go a step further, i actually think a lot of rapes occur because of alcohol and drugs (i haven't looked up these statistics) along with the way society is right now.

I think you must have been working in an antediluvian organisation Beth. I can’t imagine using that as a reason not to appoint someone for at least 30 years. Even in discussions with the ‘panel’ I would expect to have been called out by colleagues, let alone HR, for suggesting this, and even had I believed it I simply can’t conceive of saying it to a candidates face. I strongly suspect that, nowadays, it would result in a disciplinary in my organisation. Anyway, I think we are all blindly trying to find a balance on the trans stuff, there should be no abuse, there is no need to cancel people, if they are truly ignorant they will be exposed as such. It’s taken about 200 years for us to get to where we are today in terms of equality for women, courtesy of Mary Wollstonecraft, and we still have deeply embedded cretinous behaviours to deal with, same on race. We’ve only just started on sexual orientation and literally at the start line on gender identity. It’s frustrating. Just imagine what it must feel like to be Welsh………oops.

I see a popular stretch of beach in essex is closed as people saw raw sewage being pumped straight into the sea. How disgusting! What a lovely holiday destination and really promotes the tourist industry in this country.
Lack of investment in infrastructure has led to the situation whereby privatised water companies were allowed to discharge raw sewage into our rivers on 400,000 occasions last year. Yet, since privatisation, the same companies have paid £57bn in dividends to shareholders. Re-nationalise them.
As long as someones making money nobody cares, until you see a floater pass you by whilst dipping your feet
Except that once the genie is out of the bottle... There are foreign investors in UK company shares. Start forcing sales and the confidence in the market can be lost. Edit Just reminded myself of the dire state of waterways, sewage systems under public ownership due to lack of investment by successive governments. The Thames barely had a fish left in it due to pollution. So while some water companies are worse than others, competition and the threat of large fines should help raise standards

Remember that at tomorrow's Budget every time you hear the Tories claiming there's no money to eradicate homelessness, end child poverty, scrap the £20 Universal Credit cut or give nurses a proper pay rise.
