To be fair Staines, as i stated earlier, wages might be going up in certain sectors but the majority of those people will most lkkely not see any real time rise as its swallowed up by ever increasing prices. The majority of problems we are witnessing, involving labour shortages, certain food shortages, just in time deliveries, fuel shortage delays resulting in panic buying, energy price rises etc etc were all actually possible outcomes of a no deal brexit, as stated in the governments own analysis. We were told over and over again that we had a great Brexit deal. So i totally agree with you about getting the real enemy out. Thankfully but in a rather sad way, those northern voters who lended their vote to the Tories who are now going to reap what they sow will realise too late that they have been sold a dud built on meaningless slogans repeated over and over again with absolutely no substance.Agreed Bob. That’s why we can all concentrate on defeating the real enemy.
Depends for who fellow bob.
Middle class office workers and companies that are did okay, all those people have saved loads. Save on travelling, save on meals out, saved on all the holidays they would have typically taken.
The underclass and lower class and anyone who lost their job obviously didn't save. Small businesses tend to have lost out too (retails etc). I would say takeaways/catering businesses has increased for those out in the sticks whereas those in the city lost out. Anything dining in obviously took big hits

Only quoting the governments own Yellowhammer potential effects of a no deal Brexit. So in reality, because we got a great deal, none of the issues mentioned can be linked back to brexit at all. Its all to do with a mixture of 3 things in my humble opinion. A pandemic, brexit and incompetence. No mention whatsoever of the effects of a global pandemic there, Bob? There are delivery problems in the EU too.
It's the government's responsibility to see through the transition to full Brexit and also of employers that cannot rely on importing cheap labour, and have to pay proper wages and work to improve productivity
Erm yes mate, there has been issues getting fuel to the pumps if you hadnt noticed. Whether that be due to lack of hgv drivers, panic buying or both doesnt really matter. It happened and was no doubt manufactured to happen by our lot. Was certainly a quick boost to the economy and a sneaky ****ing way to increase fuel prices at the same time. Paying hgv drivers more is great but until they get the proper infrastructure then it still wont pay enough. What cheap foreign labour are you talking about mate? Theyve mainly ****ed off home although Johnson did say around 100 truckers have applied to come over. Its all becoming rather relative, higher wages but higher taxes and bills. Not many will be any better off than before.Fuel shortage delays ? Really Bob ? With respect I think you should look at how a tiny situation has been manipulated by certain sides who stand to benefit from cheap foreign labour and then come back to me.
These people are pissed off that now working people are turning the tide and are getting a decent wage for an honest days work…..that in my book is completely wrong. But hey, ho what do I know…….I’m just an egotistic class warrior who hasn’t got a clue. Maybe I should leave it to others on here and elsewhere to set the rules and remember my place

I dont disagree with you, the industry in cohorts with the government. We are all being played by the industry and government. I wonder what shortage next will boost the economy and enable a price rise. As for hope, there really is none with this lot in charge. But Bob, in referring to your first paragraph, sorry but it really matters…it really matters a lot.
You’re being played by the industry mate, and if you and others can’t see it then there really is no hope.
Good luck fella and all the best
With all due respect Staines and i mean that seriously, even the pay rise for HGV drivers is just a token gesture. It will all go back to government and in their general bills anyway. My bro in law left West Yorks Police to do it during the height of the pandemic, hes now actually regretting it as he says the standards of work are medieval. ****ting at the side of the road, pissing in bushes, extortinate prices at service stations etc

That's certainly true. Much worse in this country than on the Continent apparently, and that has to change. But it is a culture thing rather than a government thing. Years of taking HGV drivers for granted. It will improve now. Drivers have to be enticed back with good pay and good working conditions.
100% this, i didn't know about all this until i read about recently. Not something you ever think about but i guess now lack of drivers is the big news, it does really explain why nobody really wants to do it especially as i can imagine it's quite stressful
