Although tongue in cheek…..it does seem rather odd to me that every downturn or trouble gets firmly nailed to the sail of Brexit by some……whereas any benefits, seen by and large to be ignored.

NB I haven’t got a clue why a mouse with ****ing hearts for eyes is attached to this comment :emoticon-0120-doh:

Brexit is done, but at the beginning of the year we couldn't get anywhere near enough gear into the country due to the customs backlog and excess paperwork that wasn't there beforehand....that's what our logistics chain told us, and who am I to disbelieve them? They've finally caught up, but I think that orders now have to go in much more in advance to what they used to be.

Building materials are becoming harder to get hold of aswell, also the prices rising constantly. The cost of these and the current labour prices all get passed on to the customer.

Bit if a double edged sword though really as the consumer pays more for services and now materials.

So basically there were some teething problems that really should have been expected.
If our government wasn’t so **** and worked it out better, then these problems never needed to happen.

Wages are going up so I for one am happy to pay more for services…..would like the unscrupulous employers to take less profit and invest in their staff more instead of making vast profits for share holders but no reason that can’t be in the future agenda with a strong union membership

Wages here have gone up 40% and more work than workers right now.

I was obviously talking about the traditionally lower paid trade of HGV drivers that Kiwi was referring to…but could also be talking about construction and hospitality that have also seen big increases of pay due to the ceasing of exploitation of foreign labour
I was of course not referring to yourself, being a high flyer who is obviously paid a decent wage already.

If I’m totally honest, and I like to try to be, due to various reasons (pay increase and moving up a spine point) my wages have increased by approximately 10-15% recently.

I feel I’ve earned it

But they did happen, hence I was sat in my house waiting for kit to jump through all the unneccessary hoops to get into the country. And we all knew it was going to happen because the whole thing was handled so poorly by those ****s responsible for a "smooth transition".

Not that I'm bitter, but it wiped out years of savings - no work but the bills don't stop piling up - hence I'm now working my nuts off to try and get back on an even keel. So yeah, blame Brexit - I don't care, over it now I can see the light at the end of the tunnel - but I'm one of the lucky ones....and my pay hasn't increased one jot, but I'm pleased for you and all the NHS staff who've had rises (as derogatory a rise as it was - you all deserve more)

it’s being reported that the Tories are looking at breaking one of their major manifesto promises and raise the level of NI payments by at least 1%, they say to pay for a massive overhaul in social care.

Forgetting the rights or wrongs about what it’s supposed to be used for, doesn’t this make a complete mockery of voting for any party, ‘cos once in power they do what the **** they want anyway ?
