I’m still struggling with the concept of any of that making people racist. People may feel there’s strength in numbers when they realise enough others share their views so are happy to be more openly racist but that’s not really the same thing.
You keep trying then mate.

Why do you think the fans boo the kneeling? Genuine question. If i were a fan there, i wouldnt do anything, leave them too it and as you say 'respect all views'.
I wouldn't boo either but as i said I think people are just getting bored with it all. They go there to watch a match.

Hopefully I’ll never feel that left behind just because Alex Scott got a good tv gig.
But some do. Many long term viewers didn't like the change. Good luck to her if she is the best for the job then that's how it should be. If you are trying to tell me that some of those new sky pundits are better than the ones that lost their jobs your argument falls to bits.

They don’t have to like it. Just accept that not everything has to be tailored to them.

Maybe the pundits that some white, 50+ blokes want to see shouldn’t necessarily fill every role. If Martin Keown and Andy Hinchcliffe are worthy of their roles then it’s not a very high bar.

It’s not like every position is filled by a woman or ethnic minority but if you don’t give people like Alex Scott and Micah Richards a chance then they can’t ever improve and become great at what they do.

I agree but you choose the best person for the job. If you don't agree with that then there is no point explaining.

Maybe your criteria for the best person for the job isn’t the same as mine or Bob’s or Surrey’s. Maybe with positions like these it’s right that minorities feel represented in a way that isn’t as relevant for a random office job.

To be fair Ellers, you truly are the master of 'dog whistling' political opinion. It is a marvel to behold. On the one hand you say ' I would never boo the knee etc etc..' but then proceed to bang on about 'how people on the pub think this, my neigbour thinks that' without actually implicating yourself. It is actually amazing. I bow to your superior skills in this area....outstanding work.

Why what's the difference? Are you saying there isn't enough minorities on TV? Are you saying some people should get a job just because they are black or of colour?

There probably at one time weren’t enough on sports shows where there’s huge demand outstripping supply of roles. People aren’t getting jobs purely because they’re black. They do have to have some semblance of ability or qualification too otherwise any random black person would be given the gig. If they have some sort of potential, which neither you or I are qualified to decide, they probably stay on, learn and improve. If not, they don’t.
