The deals struck, as reported in the Times, are enhanced. here is what the business news says: British firms exporting goods to the three countries will be able to do so without any paperwork, with digital routes that seek to end the post-Brexit bureaucracy that many exporters have struggled with. As for Liz Truss... she has done a sterling job.
The post-Brexit bureaucracy was caused by Brexit! We're just getting back to where we were before, but most likely with less favourable terms.
Maybe but according to the business news on the terms of this new deal There are tariff reductions and quotas on pork, poultry and other goods. UK wines and spirits including Scotch Whisky will also now be recognised in Norway and Iceland Cheese exporters to Norway will reap the benefits of tariffs cuts which can reach as high as 277 per cent. Import tariffs on shrimps, prawns and haddock will also shrink, cutting costs for UK fish processing. The agreement also means that UK businesses will be able to bid for more government contracts in Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein, which are worth a total of £200m. so actually as reported in the Times... it is better than what we had. You need to move on fella.
The Norwegian Government said the deal was one of the most comprehensive free trade agreements the country has ever negotiated but it was also recognised that it could not compare to previous arrangement when the UK was still in the EU.
Where is that from The Guardian or The Independent? As I have said we are out of the EU and you need to stop harping on about the past. The deal is a good one and it cuts away the red tape and gives us further opportunities than we could have got in the EU. All the articles I have read have said the same. Of course there will be negative press, but that normally comes from remain fanatics.
All the articles you've read say the same because they are word for word reproductions of a UK Department of Trade press release. The article I read, in the Standard, also included the statement from the Norwegian government.
Actually I have read others. As I said you will always get a few fanatics who will try and criticise this but it is a good deal for the future. I was always told to look forward and not back. If you want to dwell on the past Stroller then go ahead. Me I am looking forward to a better future for this country away from a group of unelected freaks who couldn’t give a to22 about us ( non non non, you can’t have your cake) and we’re only interested in our money. If you want to support them that up to you. You need to read up a bit on the inside of the EU without the U.K. they are struggling and Sh222ing themselves. We will get the deals we want after they have played their silly games because they need us.
Easy tiger, watch the gammon pressure. No one's saying these deals are a bad thing per se, they just aren't as good or comprehensive as the arrangements we previously had. You should stop pretending that they are.
I think the problem is Stroller you may be getting your information from people who cannot accept that we have left? Nothing will ever be as good or better for these people. personally I think it’s a breath of fresh air that we have left that antiquated organisation. It makes us agile and we only have to listen to one lot of idiots at the top. Look at the vaccine roll-out... it would have been a different story if we were still in. We managed before it existed and we will manage when the whole rotten thing collapses. Funnily we will probable be the ones to pick it up.
I got my information from an article in the Standard, if that counts. Everyone accepts that we've left the EU, which is why you should stop calling people Remainers - you can't remain in something you've already left. It is still valid, however, to point out problems caused by Brexit, or to call out people such as yourself who pretend that perfectly ordinary, and probably worse, new arrangements are some kind of triumph.
The flip side of that is that it is also valid to point out to people like yourself who continually knock everything positive that comes out. That’s fine mate you dwell on the past and I will look forward. I will also add that for me Brexit was about freeing ourselves from that stale dinosaur of an organisation. We have now done that and if that means a deal is not quite as good as before, but we govern ourselves, then so be it. As it happens I know once it settles we will be doing just fine. All parties have been saying it for years and all have missed targets. As things change it will be harder to stay in the U.K. in the future there will be electronic ID. But for now nothing will change.
