BREAKING Jeremy Corbyn suspended from the Labour Party. Will this be the start of a war within the party?

Watford I think it's best not to be too vocal today because I have never witnessed anything like this before in politics. The report is damming and doesn't show the Labour Party in a good light.

Flip - kudos to him, I didn't see that coming! Ballsy.

Starmer is smart enough to know how hard it will be to win given the electoral system and the rise of the SNP. Labour need a swing as big as the 1997 swing for a majority of 1. So he has to gamble on some sort of 'clause 4 moment' and looks like he's going for it.

Get your popcorn ready, this will be fun to watch

    Get rid.
The problem is that I have read reports that Starmer was part of his inner circle. Did he know more than he is letting on? I don't believe that Starmer would be like the others that have let the party down but questions are being raised. This will drag n for a long time.
What doesn't help is Jezza feeling everyone that it is a media stitch up. <doh>

    Why so?

I'd have thought it could go either way. Might actually help Starmer to paint this as 'old Labour' [to use a loaded term] and to look strong by expelling Corbyn. Obviously could do the opposite and reinforce perceptions of Lab from some.

I don't think he actually thinks like that? Although I will never know. The one thing about MP's and people in the House is that they do actually care about things (sometimes in a weird way) and this is embarrassing for all. Jezza went above and beyond things to cover up for his mates and knew about these problems and did nothing. I can't believe Labour MP's and supporters were threatened for asking questions. one today said he received threats that they would rape his young daughter. FFS! Jezza has been found out for what he is and no one can now say that he didn't have problem with Jews. No room for that in politics.
Jezza is now kicking off against the party and will now take on Starmer over this. Watch this space.

I'm not even on the wind up - you don't think it's possible that the strength of reaction, expelling the leader from 6 months ago, might help Starmer to come across as strong, decisive and about as anti-racist as you can be?

Not saying it will work, I think it's a gamble, but a good one.

Edit - I like Finkelstein, so I'm glad I'm in good company on this:

It just takes some of the spotlight away from his ineptitude. Fair play to Starmer, he's started the process, he has to follow it through...

He's done the right thing - I'm not sure he had much choice. Corbyn will not go quietly. There's going to be a blood letting...but it might just save the Labour Party if Starmer keeps his nerve

The problem now has is that Jezza and his merry men/women will go against Starmer. It will be like the Tory rebels that caused all those problems last year. You never know Jezza might set up The North London Champagne Party? I bet Starmer will be gutted not to be involved with that?

I don't think he had much choice Goldie. You maybe right when you said a while back that Labour will probably have internal battles with Jezza's lot and Starmer?

What is it with the US police shooting that fella 14 times? Even though he attacked them with a knife, they had Glock's and 14 seems a bit excessive?
