Absolutely shocking. The Tories wont keep him PM for long. An absolute embarrassment to them. Can you tell me when you first knew about the problems with the algorithm PM?
He cant make his mind up on the EU!!!
Starmer is head and shoulder above that clown and I think the Tories are starting to at last realise it. He will be gone soon.

People can and probably will simply write this off because it’s the Guardian, Starmer is “wooden” for being hardworking and competent and anyway Brexit means Brexit u lost get ova it haha snowflayk but I’d challenge our resident Tories to disagree with it.

oh wow, can't believe Boris went off on one. Boris losing his cool. Can't wait for further meltdowns

funnily enough nothing in the BBC.

One point for how right wing the bbc is.

The BBC know they're in the last chance saloon and are all ****ting themselves. It was noticeable how polite the interviewers were to government ministers this morning, which marks a big change. According to LBC today, recent polls show vast majority of public don't trust the BBC and want it's monopoly taken from it.

Which government ministers were interviewed?

There's no reason for BBC interviewers to give government representatives an easy ride. They must be held to account. The reason they don't appear on Newsnight is not because the programme's biased, but because that they don't want to be asked difficult questions. Pathetic.

Matt Hancock was interviewed by Nick Robinson on Today, Radio 4. It was searching but polite.

Newsnight's whole base is left wing and aggressive against centre or centre right. It's directed by an ex Guardian manager and has employed rude, shock jocks like James O'Brien as interviewers. Maitliss has had complaints upheld against her for her sneering attitude to right wing commentators. I gave up watching it long ago because of lack of balance - it's a once nightly fix to make left wing activists feel better about themselves

can't really comment on newsnight as i rarely watch tv. Think i last time i watched it was like 14 years ago when paxman was on it and gave someone a good old grilling.

I don't mind ministers being grilled if its appropriate but i must say a lot of interviewing nowadays is just to catch people out for a headline

Ah, Nick Robinson, say no more - a Tory.

Didn't James O'Brien resign from Newsnight because he wasn't allowed to be as searching as he wanted to be?

It's inevitable that the government are going to face more difficult questions than opposition representatives on programmes such as Newsnight. It comes with the job. The Johnson/Cummings regime just doesn't want to be held to account - as witnessed by Johnson's shambolic performances at PMQs.

Dan Walker bending over for ministers to get access is nothing new. Much easier than going on Piers Morgan’s show and having to answer an actual question.

O'Brien was sacked because he was too rude, even for Newsnight. If you look at his interviewees on LBC, the only people that will agree to come on are Sadiq Khan and left wing comedians. So his show is all about him.

Of course, government ministers must be held to account and challenged. But it's also obvious that those interviewers that are rude, sneer and try to ambush by using unverified facts etc will be avoided. Government ministers are under no obligation to be interviewed by everyone. This is not a right wing thing. Do you think Corbyn would have allowed himself to be interviewed by the Daily Mail if he had become PM?

As I say 1 or 2 people on here just hate everything Tory and are a minority.
Anyway back in the real world... In Sunny Berkshire, we will be looking forward to the Tory flower show. Hopefully, we may get to meet a few. :)

O'Brien is a remoaning lefty who mocks anyone who doesn't agree with him on LBC. I got bored of him after about 5 minutes. The Farage show was a better balance. Even our old mate Nige would say someone had a good point whereas O'Brien would shout them down and ridicule them.
Same old group of people preaching to us, telling us they know better than we do and that they are somehow like the normal people while living in their fancy house in North London, sending their kids to private schools/private hospitals driving fancy cars, and working in the media. Hypocrites.

O'Brien resigned...

I've heard Farage, IDS and Rees-Mogg on O'Briens radio show, all made to look ridiculous. That's why Tories are scared to go on.
