Can’t for the life of me see why even this shocking non-government would choose not to spend a relative pittance to not have poor children starve in 2020. How basic a decision is that?

Putting the rights and wrongs of the policy to one side for a second, I'm not sure why they are fighting Rashford on this one. Feels like an easy win for the Govt if they had played their cards right with a lot of cheap and distracting PR.

As I write I wonder if that might be the reason though - better headlines about a fight with Rashford, which they end up backing with a photoshoot in Downing Street in 10 days than headlines about handling of coronavirus and Cummings etc.

The scum have caved in. Well done Marcus.

Poor children's lives matter.

"The scum". And you a Forum Moderator too. Sigh...

As Keynes said: "When the facts change, I change my mind. What do you do, Sir?" On that basis, I say we'll done "the scum" (aka the elected government that you didn't vote for) for considering Rashford's request and responding accordingly instead of unnecessarily digging in on this. A small cost compared to the billions that Ritchie Sambora (or whatever our Chancellor's name is) is spaffing out on furloughing people for no effective purpose whatsoever.

Nice to see the 'Opposition' claiming they've done it, perhaps a young footballer has more moral fibre than all those c*nts put together...

Well the 'opposition' did raise the issue initially but were ignored by the government. It took a populist campaign by a footballer to get anything done, which says a lot about Johnson and Cummings.

The facts didn't change though, Ubes. It was just the negative publicity that came on the back of the Rashford campaign and the fact that tomorrow is PMQs.

Receiving negative publicity is a fact, innit tho.

...and in one fell swoop, young Rashford groups himself with everybody else unable to debate more eloquently.

Its Hopkins, that’s probably the nicest thing she’s had said to her in months, and rightfully so the woman is a walking pustule.

Well done to Rashford and others who fought for this. The Tories were and are eager for disadvantaged kids to get back to school but **** feeding them when they need it!

If the moderators are Pompeydomps and Tobeywobes, what the **** are the rest of the Portsmouth board like? <laugh>
