I'm not sure it does answer my question fully mate, but it does give me a better idea of where you're coming from. My family is steeped in Old Bill - there's a picture of my grandfather standing guard outside 10 Rillington Place, my brother was involved in major child sex abuse investigations in the 80s, and my nephew is currently in the Sweeney - so I fully respect and admire your son's career choice (as I do your own), but I don't think you should necessarily conflate the George Floyd demonstrations with an anti-OB sentiment in this country. Most people here will recognize that the standard of policing here is vastly different - and superior - to that in the US. My ex-OB brother now lives in the US and is scathing about policing in the States as compared to the UK, which he puts down to poor standards of selection and training.
